When I was born - mother collapsed
then she got well - never came back
Daddy was gone - most of the time
when he returned - we were attacked
Sister was told: "Feed her or else!
Mix it up right. Keep your trap shut!"
Daddy got poor - sold me for food
babies were best - earned the best cut
As I grew more - daddy was rich
hooked on the sale - power it brought
I wanted out - pleaded my cause,
he forced me down - never was caught

I was an infant soul.
He came to me in my dreams
as a lullaby only I could sing.
And he watched as I swiftly
rocked myself into a romance
only him and I could sway to.

the world is shattering,
with a raven hovering.
the wild creation with big strong wings,
coming closure, spreading darkness, hiding everything.
visibility has gone even with dilated pupil.
humans trying to remember ethics and scruples.
this will end soon, we chanting every prayer,
the old and infant both survive and again we get fresh air.

Hafiz
(1320 ~ 1389)
_____
The tide of my love
Has risen so high let me flood over
You.
Close your eyes for a moment
And maybe all your fears and fantasies
Will end.
If that happened
God would become an infant in your
Arms
And then you
Would have to nurse all
Creation!

(20th - 21st century)
the floodplain of my love
has spread so wide encompassing all of
You.
Opened your eyes forever
And every prayer and wish uttered see
true realized.
Since this is inevitable
God, our parent, will have raised us well,
each ever cherished.
And then you and I
obligated to write His song, name it
Hallelujah!

Who creates us,
is it pure science or something,
that is far more than our reach or minds?
All this curiousity, all these questions,
they fade away, when a parent sees his infant,
taking the first breath, all the emotions are just locked away.
Such a beautiful creature human is,
such a beautiful life he is about to live,
born with no jealously, no pity,
all he has to offer is a beautiful cry,
opening his body for the oxygen of the new world,
the new world that has now become pretty deadly,
but all we can hope is that the boy,
finds his way on the earth,
never envies, zero foes, a happy circle,
is where we all wish he goes.

They were all looking at the bubbles then it popped.
“Argh! My eyes! Ma!”
“I told you, you’re not supposed to stare at the bubbles when it floats right on your eyes”
“But it’s beautiful and I see the mini-rainbows while it wobbles in the sky.”
The mother and the child went staring at the bubbles floating as they fly above the orange skies.
He blew another, carefully - eyes shining with excitement.
“Look, Mom! This one is bigger! I blew it slower than the other, this one will not pop.”
The cold wind blew with the ruffling of the grass as if clapping.
The bubble wobbled and wobbled on the orange sky
Passed by the resting sun, magnifying its beauty, it glittered.
The boy’s eyes shimmered in excitement.
Pop!
“Not again!” the boy sighed in exasperation.”
He asked, “Where do bubbles go when they pop?”
She looked at him intently.
She smiled, “they become the clouds, like tiny bubbles watching over us.”
“Why would they watch over us?”
“For in time, they will know that the sun will burn our skin, then they will come as rain.”
“Well, let me make more bubbles, so we can play with You in the rain.”
Don’t Forget the Bubbles

babe stirs
safety a wild call
lost to night
blood ties shunned
explosions blurring
lines
diesel spillage
corrosive
chill
breaking walls
of sleeping
child
carnivorous plants
insects torn to
shreds
by those lost
removed from
breath
passing pause
brisk breeze
grants space
as dawn
stirs
sentience

make mouths
pull on the muscles under the face
express self at the world we present to you
(straining it all in
through your finking eyes)
make return actions
and make us understand
that you are pleased
and that we are not just
madly flailing at this ‘parent’ business.

When I close my eyes I dream of you
Wrapped up tight in blue
Little darling I dream of you
Your soft pale skin
And eyes full of sky
Your voice like an angel
With anguish in your cry
So small yet so perfect in every way
Hold you close tomorrow and every day

I love the silent hour of night,
For blissful dreams may then arise,
Revealing to my charmed sight
What may not bless my waking eyes!
And then a voice may meet my ear
That death has silenced long ago;
And hope and rapture may appear
Instead of solitude and woe.
Cold in grave for years has lain
The form it was my bliss to see,
And only dreams can bring again
The darling of my heart to me

With my inward eye
I saw the light
When darkness was
My only companion.
From behind my lashes
I stepped a little
With dreams to
Achieve.
Clothes humid
Like my mortal
Heart held me
When I was broken.
But people forget
The shattered mortals
Can be united not
The broken ones
With weights of all
Gone faiths, I walked.
Though I didn't reach
The summit yet
I saw the peak

I sat by the window,
Opposite to trees.
My head was aching
For I had a sleepless night.
The sun shined,
On the broken windowpane.
The yellow leaves were shedding
Off their companions.
The cold breeze slipped through the broken windowpane
And whispered something in my ears.
It calmed my mind
And my pain vanished.
The door, in the room, opened
And she entered.
Everyone stood up, I didn't.

Do this cry sound like rain?
With those fields of broken grains,
And the clouds with dark stains,
Does the ground feel all this pain?
Wake up to the sun tonight,
Maybe the moon doesn't light up right,
But the ocean will always fight,
For the peace, for the star's sight.
Let winds breathe from the trees,
This is how the flowers plea,
To look this beautiful to see,
And bring our eyes down to its knee.

run infantwoman
run as fast as you can in any direction that seems
AWAY
run till you threaten to drop dead
or
just drop
skinned needs, skinned knees,
runs inyournewtights
heels of your palmsbleeding
fromwhere you
s k i d along the unforgiving asphalt
that had been lying in wait for your stumble
hungry for your blood
hungry for your self
—
effacement to bring you
back to this place
so well known
– when you – smart actualized near woman you –
go THERE
and stumble
the asphalt only wins
if
you continue to wear that same pair of tights
(no matter how many times you stumble the thing that matters most is that you land softer)

i was born yesterday
everything was new
i’d never heard my grandma cry
yet her face was fresh with dew
someone held me yesterday
i was an infant in her arms
her voice was milk and honey
as she whispered to be calm
i was born yesterday
the day another passed
his wife just couldn’t wake him
when she got home from mass

A woman once
Wished on star
From lands afar
"Please oh please
Bright twinkling light
Give me a child tonight"
And the woman prayed
Every night for years
Her plea fell on deaf ears
Until a goddess
Who made me swoon
Heard her tune;
The Moon
Begging she had heard
The mother of Earth
The call answered
With a "birth"
Transcending her planet
Coming to ours
In a pomegranate
Inside the botanic
Did she travel
Until cloth unravel
Child Delivered
To dainty hands
Such divine plans
Celestial now infant
Baby and parent
Woman loves ancient

And I would pop before you knew.

you can’t just
play me out until I’m dizzy
and lying on the ground like a lost infant.
you can’t make my words
at once crash off the shelves,
my tongue will drop down my pipe.
perhaps I’ll close my eyes
once open, I am masked.
masked until I am as thick as my skin
punching through the layers inside
as my soul pushes them back.
so that they are well hidden from your luring voice,
like these marks stained on this paper.

Little infant wrapped in blue
Don’t worry of danger coming to you.
Little infant with little eyes closed
I’ll make sure to the elements you are never exposed.
Little infant that cries at night
You never go out of my careful eyesight.
Little infant that wants mum and dad
I love you each day; don’t be quite so sad.
Little infant of bubbly joy
I’ll help you play with your favorite toy.
Little infant of smiling glee
Please stay so innocent and warm and happy.
Little infant that grows in the blink of an eye
I hope I’ll never have to say goodbye.
Little infant do promise that when you’re all grown
Do please make some infants of your very own.
