Alphabet People and Others
Just remember, the next one you choose Choose wisely- Be selective, Of the habits and disguised demons you allow to occupy Your space Because truth be told, As women, we will be their emotional home And this home is sacred. Build your pillars high and strong Made concrete of love, humility, sensitivity, empathy Radiating an identity of beauty A distinguished strength. All may want a glimpse, but-- Only you know the labor of building this foundation; Brick by brick, Bare hands, bleeding day and night, And you cried yourself to sleep thinking of all you lost To gain what you have in front of you today. The one you let in to your sacred abode Will come to you at day’s lay with all his sorrow, Vulnerable, expressive, head held low. A cruel punishment from society to think he does not have the tools that you have and you are the only one who holds the power to soothe His battle wounds. Love this man-- But if one day there is a crack in your pillar And you are feeling weighed down from pulling a boulder to the top Every day like Sysiphus; Crawling out of a pit of despair on your hands and knees Needing a place to lay your head, Make sure your man is a man That understands the strength of your emotions And his own To carry and lift you both up without a word, Like the wind beneath an arctic tern. Helping you secure your pillars before you fall completely apart As he knows this is his home too, So he must care for it like his own.

Our Home
Always be on the lookout In case someone sees you holding your girlfriends hand Be wary of those who claim that god loves everyone but objectify you for your sexuality Always maintain your composure when someone mentions the idea of your sexuality being a ‘kink’ And finally find your people The ones who offer a rope down the dark well that is your mind The ones who give you light The ones who uplift They tell you to not give in And so far I haven’t For that I am proud

How to be gay in a heterosexual world
We live in a straight world. You might not think it’s true, “Gays are coming out everyday could be them next or her, maybe you too” Well I’ll take a minute to prove it to you. If I told you I’m into girls I’d see your brain short circuit in real time, “But you don’t look gay” you’d say. “Straight passing” is what they call a girl like me, who still looks feminine but doesn’t want the D. This “luxury” of remaining in the closet is really hurting my game, Added another straight boy to my list of those who lost it when they heard me exclaim, “I appreciate the offer, but I’m gay” Let’s not forget the most important issue “Gays will ruin the sanctity of marriage” Here, I’ll hand you the tissues. Man and woman, hand in hand, till death do they part, and yet more than half of all marriages end in the perfected art of divorce. Far be it from me, to take anyone’s right to do and say what they want, while you embrace the hate and live fighting the inevitable reality of any queer couple tying the knot. It might be 2018, but I still can’t hold a potential partner’s hand in a public facility without getting disgusted leers and a dreadful look at multiple cases of unprovoked hostility. So, try to look me in the eyes, And tell me I’m not right. But despite it all I’ll keep my head up high And let that rainbow flag fly Because this might be a straight world, But love is love is love is love. And that concludes this winded verse.

Can I pry The gates open And abstain I want to be free Maybe gay Not sane I can't configure The shapes In my mind So am I gay? I love a man Desire a woman Contained And afraid Of my choices Nature and pawn Or creation And spawn He sings She cries I can only sigh The walls collide I crumble Air unpurified It will take a while Maybe a retry But why? I'm not a woman Nor a man Just a guy Without time No crime Inside Lust is dust Plans turn to rust Turning out to be a bust

gloomy
In my world, we aren’t allowed to love men if we’re women, In my world, we aren’t allowed to love women if we’re men. It used to be that it was wrong for men to love men, or women to love women, It used to be frowned upon for them to get married, the way we do so often. “God created Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve,” protestors used to claim. But according to their beliefs, God created everyone the same. I couldn’t imagine waking up without the love of my life, next to me every day, Her warm arms wrapped around me; our bodies lying in a tangled array. My brother couldn’t imagine waking up without the love of his life, next to him every morning, Or going to sleep without him, for without his husband he is nothing. Plato said that Zeus struck the humans with four arms and four legs, with two hearts and two faces, For he feared their power and condemned them to search for their soul mates embraces. If Plato is right and we are split into two halves why did they used to think it meant opposite sexes? If in mitosis a cell produces an exact copy of itself why didn’t they think it meant same sexes? But perhaps it is wrong for us to conclude that heterosexuality is so unacceptable, If now we think it is so ridiculous that homosexuality used to be considered terrible. r.f.
