Daily Haiku 180126-1
From nation to nation All around the world The Ruling Class Though many times outnumbered By the rest Sit bathing in the sun In their Ivory Towers: Born to Richness Whilst millions of Poor Just starve to death. Hordes and hordes of people, Without clean water Or food Or a stable roof over their heads. No medicine, or Education, or Anything That Costs. Governments give “Aid” to other governments To “feed the poor”, But we all know what happens… What we need is a “Government of The World”, Or some Benevolent Despot to Rule us all. Anything must be better Than the impotent UN Or these shambolic “nations” – Puppets of Globalisation. Revolution threatens – It often does – Until the rulers appease us With token concessions And brainwash us Though The Media, So called “Education” And Religious Dogma. When will we learn? Where is Democracy and Love? But, bound by Political Correctness, Woe betide if we Complain. The Cold War continues, So all we can do Is soldier on For The Common Good. Paul Butters

Unfair World
Mothers, sell your children to the church, Foods hard currency, when the rains no longer come, and the gods of old seem dead. Now your praying in the white mans church 'cause the white mans god has bread to spare. Children, you're the future of your tribe, Please don't forget the old ways, for the old days will return. There's more than words to language, more than heat shared when the camp fires burned.

Mothers
*When we start building Walls Amidst neighbourhood woes neighbours we encouraged to construct their homestead close to our doors in assurance of a strong shoulder on which to lean in times of adversity, you definitely know the wines we call Wars are brewing somewhere, walls are just a wine cellar Divisions are the bottle to the wine seller We once built bridges to unite the world that peacefully lived as a divided entity That's what happens in times of crisis Some build walls to quarantine the endemic while others choose to build more bridges even if it means risking an entire generation for we were once a world without boundaries neighbourhood miseries were our miseries their laugh was our laugh and their cry was our cry We sung a single anthem in unison without a sigh... always wait for drums of war to judge who is true wait until then to know who honestly loves you*

a necktie; a noose
the foxgloves explode in infinite slow motion [silently] from them also we can learn the soft crash and save ourselves from the genius suicide: the brief fame of a supernova … intermittent rain keeps the land fecund, a deluge cleanses to the bedrock, rain in perpetuity is impossible and we think we can control this but we live at one speed, and measure in standard units: our language is insufficient to give a precise reflection … to assume our laws are true beyond appeal puts into question our democratic process we forget the necessity of conversation the original Greek ideal of the agora; to meet friends and argue is the point, is it not, of life, of all this noise, after all, what use is silence? … our luxury of having the exercise of our conscience is subsidised by the suffering of a multitude other ..and yet when we all speak with one language / currency / voice there is no poetry anymore no rhyme, no metre, no form in this Heaven only, [on Earth], we are united

"What Heaven will see us reunited?"
we live in a world of concrete who needs trees anyways? we're happy with our gases the ones that suffocate us but not as much as the fresh air. who needs a healthy environment anyways? we have our hospitals and cures to diseases. peace of mind? that's been eradicated completely and quite successfully might i add. because life's just not fun without any complications and in our case, they're not even natural.
