The Universe in Your Eyes
The universe lives in your eyes -
brighter than the sun’s blind fury,
shimmering with the strength of a thousand stars.
Yet they do not burn me.
They soften me.
Within them, oceans rise -
wild, merciless,
capsizing ships beneath violent storms.
Yet when I look closer,
I find stillness.
A silence deeper than the sea itself.
There is wonder there -
a hunger for distant galaxies,
a restless thirst for truth.
Yet there is wisdom too,
an ancient calm
as if they have already seen eternity
and chosen peace.
So wide.
So impossibly deep.
Roses bloom in their shadows,
warriors sleep in their fire,
and Venus herself would bow
before such quiet elegance.
They carry thousands of souls -
passion, longing, desire -
but when they meet mine,
the universe becomes smaller…
and more infinite at once.
Filled with beauty.
Filled with mystery.
