#earlymornings
Was this a lesson?
Meant to teach and hurt.
Well honey I'm confessin'
As I bleed out in the dirt.
Cigarette ashes and daydreams
Is where I've spent my time.
Between growth and extremes
It hits 2am, I hear the chime.
'Awake from this haze,
It's different now
You're having better days.
It's different now.'
Yet I lay on a dirt road
High on petrol fumes
On some kind of turbo mode
As the storm looms.
Blasted by soundwaves.
Sand and grit in my eyes
I glance at shallow graves
Had anyone heard their cries?
What's their story?
Is it like mine?
As complex and stormy?
I speed on past.
An unnatural high
That I seem to outlast.
A relieving sigh,
The cigarette's finished,
The high is still here,
I am no less diminished
In case that wasn't clear.

{Set I: Brandon}
When I wake up, I want to only see you
An adventure of a lifetime, all I say is 'Whoo-Hoo!'
I love the way you sound when you're fatigued
Those hands and how they fit between mine
I want you in the picture when I succeed
Pancakes, lemonade, it's almost 5
On the road to Niagara, with you I feel high
You can play with your ruby hair and I'll smile
When I look at you I know we can walk 500 miles
Pancakes, lemonade, watching a colorful sunrise
You'll be asking what I'm looking at with those eyes
I'm just looking at the last piece to my puzzle

Under the bridge is your favorite red hot chili peppers song.
You hurt your head skating the other day.
You kissed a girl and she didn't call you back.
You smoke Marlboro reds like they're good for you.
You drink beer like it's water.
You drink water like it's liquor.
Your cigarette burns will go unnoticed by the new girl you're talking to.
You flash a smile and my stomach drops.

I find it a bit intrusive how you talk to me in my sleep
simply to hear the secrets I keep.

Late nights
Turn to early mornings
Crowded beds
Become more appealing
When you’re wrapped up in someone’s arms
Only sleep for maybe an hour
But it doesn’t matter
Your mood couldn’t have soured
Being pressed up against that warm body
A hand resting on your side
Your mind slowing down for once
Different thoughts start to form
Unsure of what to do
You burry your face
That hand moves though
And soon
You are face to face
With entrancing eyes
Chin tipped up just a bit
Next thing you know
That high you felt hours ago
Is replaced with something better
Their lips against yours
You break apart
Your don’t stop smiling for what seems like hours
And all you do
Is wish you had said what you thought
Don’t stop
