#discontentment
It always goes something
Like
Cold, to warm, to hot,
To burning.
Is that how it is?
That’s what I’ve been
Observing.
From conflict,
To fight,
To war,
To catastrophe,
Sure, it could be a
Better analogy.
But still,
From cloud, to
Drizzle, to
Rain, to
Storm,
It always comes
Crashing down at the top.
From best, to
Good, to
Fine, to
Worst.
You reach the peak,
Just to fall to the bottom
Of Earth.

Lowly, ornery moments, viciously crusade
Whispering damnable, through tempestuous winds
Seeking the core being of auspicious people
To wreck the wholesomeness they hold
Without merit; without claim; only with lurid enmity
These satirical shadows lurking
Crave our every fallen promise
Of living a full life of exemplary character
So they can manipulate susceptible thoughts
For their own ghoulish behaviourism
The tacky underhand played by cruel intentions
Mystifies the drunken stupor of our senses
Who strive to live abjectly without fear
In the torrid aftermath of our foolishness
Are left the maudlin remnants of our self-esteem
When harmony within us is weak
Tomorrow is left to renew
The rambunctious craze of melancholia
Hiding behind contemptuous eyes of disturbia
Propensely echoing through our minds

The winter of our discontent
Became the spring of fury
Only to end in the summer of docility
Because limits are bumped into
As easily as frustrations are forgotten
And as soon as the momentum has gone
The passive majority will claim to have won
The discontentment keeps on lingering
Against the background of potential change
But the status quo knows how to appease
And puts the revolution back at ease
The winter of our discontent
Held the promise of history
But ended, once more, in tame passivity

For every girl that is a woman
Is a boy who is still a child
Perceiving just as well as you do
People tend to forget about you
In the few minutes of infamy
Trapped between two ages
With no one to claw onto
Expectations of the worst
Are excavations of the past
Perceiving just as well as you do
People tend to forget about you
You can only hope to see the light
Before you lose your inevitable fight
Taking the words out of my head
To experience them
Until bright skies turn dead
And in this hindsight
It shall be noted
There is an empty shell for those
Who wish to live a life of shows

What is it that holds the oceans back
or makes the flowers bloom
what is it that hangs with precision the sun
and makes it to chase the moon
What is it that makes us savor love
and makes our minds to dream
what gives a baby his first breath
and just the right air to breathe
What makes us long for something more
Contentment, a school boy's crush
We chase it around 'til we think it's cornered
But it always escapes in a rush
We're all searching for something deeper
Something beyond our mortal power
We won't find it in our vices
Or atop the Ivory Tower
I found the answers in eternal hope
And everything unseen
My treasures lie on the other side
This life is but a dream

An avalanche of feelings
Razes the pseudo silence
Growing discontent
In the deep caverns of life
The silent demons
Awakens from deep slumber
To wreak havoc
On the disguised perfect life
Smiles of discontent
Keeps the heart happy

***all these pretty people
with ******* flawless skin
unblemished bodies
to contain their confident
loving souls
i look in the mirror
and i cry
i can't take what looks back at me
its agonizing imperfections
and taunting discontentment
tonight i want to die
but i won't tomorrow
so i hold on
despite hating myself entirely***
