It has always been this way And always will, History demands it. Weak minded, downtrodden, ungrateful Foolish slaves and peasants We are all that and more To our emotions. But while enough strength remains To raise a hand We will fight back Even at the risk of losing everything The little we have We will fight back - we must For no-one should stand In another's shadow.

Fighting Talk
Remember those old sitcoms Some of us grew up with How they used to make us laugh When life for some seemed so carefree All in the family, Barney Miller, the Jeffersons Those were what showed for me after school And I got used to them and the stories they told Creating a mindset in me that lasted decades But understanding life better today My views have changed And my heart has softened It saddened me wondering how I'd have felt If I was gay and had to watch those shows The bigotry was so blatant and cruel The words, the treatment, the ridicule I watched the disrespect so open in the 70s And felt so sad for my gay friends who endured it I cry for you all now How that all must have hurt Breaking your spirit just turning on a TV And not knowing if your feelings would be crushed Today many of my friends are gay I recently came out as trans And I find myself deep within the LGBT community In heart and mind, body and soul Life is a road with so many turns And the point of this is That what we thought we knew about ourselves yesterday Often leads us to a life today so different we never would have imagined it Let go the ugliness of the past And embrace the beauty and wonder of today Get to know anyone you don't understand And love and care for them, and you'll see inside we're all the same by Lj Mark 2015

***** Down, Dead ***** Now
(P.S this poem is really not poetic and very direct) The system in America ***** too many questions and not a lot people answering them unless you are favored by society I'm tired of all the discrimination But it can't be entirely destroyed as it is needed to advanced society in the first place I'm tired of the immoral behaviors but they are the things that redefine our morals in society in the first place People shooting and ****** murdering and committing suicide and as usual the system don't do anything they are just waiting waiting  until that chance come until they will be able to produce a new world order but then they are waiting they are waiting.. they are waiting?? They are waiting !!!!! We still have a chance a chance to change the future a future for the betterment of tomorrow But can humanity sacrifice for change? We are not ready Nobody is ready to sacrifice our homes nor our families and friends nor our jobs and it's amazing that these are the major things that we are sacrificing only three but we held high values on it even though those things were created by people they never even meet so until that sacrifice come I will sit here writing prose poetry waiting for that day to come...

The System (Prose Poetry meaning that it has "no" rhythm)
Stand tall Stand proud They tell us But how can we stand at all? When we have been beaten And broken And stripped of our identities. The past is not Just the past It is our fears And our memories. This is a fight For basic human rights And we will not surrender. Because love Is about love And not about Gender. We have to break this cycle The cycle of hate And the cycle of oppression Because too many people Have fallen victim To depression. Love is blind Which makes society deaf Unable to hear the pleas Of the people who would rather Choose death Than live in fear In fear of being who they are. So stand up for what is right Stand up for those who Cannot stand for themselves Those who feel they have No voice. What society must learn is that: Ignorance is a choice Who you love is not.
