#crutches
I can't keep up with
him, he walks fast, his body --
is made for crutches.

Your pale white countenance
Developing perfect pools of black
Your comfort euphoric
Your presence detrimental
You're insomnia
You're Lust
You're Impotence
Your face numbing effusiveness
Congesting rhinal highways.
You're too much
You're too little
You're too Dangerous

its dark and soft, everywhere
danger and comfort coexisting around me
and i am tucked away in the latter
invader, middleground, muddled mind
i turn my head and there is a spear of light
two
they glow, ******* up the life and eminating pain
restriction and aggrivation
the clunk, clunk of metal and rubber
breath caught, eyes fixed
fateful and stunning, slender silver
i hate them but i cant move without them
the sheets lose their softness, my middleground slips away
i cant go back to sleep

Thank you for dinner, sorry I can't stay
sorry I was born, sorry I can't pay
Sorry I was around
when you'd have me gone
Sorry I got quiet
when you went to turn me up
The road ahead for me
the road behind for you
Should have packed and left you at night
so I could finally pass death into the daylight
Awarded for the conscious service I provide:
Nothing
Nothin?
Nothing but crutches with smudges
catching must in the closet touching
another box in its depressing square
Pictures, I burn them
Dish? I break that.
I'm just another broke ***** barefoot in a haystack
Your clothes get acid
Heart? I sever the artery.
I'm just another childhood ruined with adult bad

She felt joyous
Watching herself on screen
Eyes fixed, mind engrossed
In rapt attention she smiled!
The TV stopped abruptly
Her hands held a fist
Angry, she looked around
But nobody but her remained
When the TV went on a static
Her hands loosened up
Gently she stood up, eyes blurry
With crutches, went to her room

I was your crutches when your heart was breaking
I was your scarf and gloves to keep you warm in the winter.
But when the sun came
You didn't need me.
When your heart healed,
You tossed aside your crutches
And I waited for the cold to come
Leaving your heart broken
begging for warmth and support.

I've been using crutches ever since I was small.
It used to be my parents when I would fall.
Lacking the strength or knowledge to stand on my own,
they would lead me
teach me
support this insecure child.
I've been using crutches ever since I was small.
A shot of ******* another sip of alcohol.
Liquid courage to face the day,
flexing my beer muscles for the ladies
my true self atrophied from years of inactivity.
I've been using crutches ever since I was small.
With my crutches gone, it's time for me to stand tall.
I've worn out every crutch
under the ballooning weight of my insecurity
and now with wobbly legs and unsure steps,
I must learn to stand on my own.
