Only a couple will understand me
On this fateful day
The day of the Stretch
It is from here we go and why we cannot stay
The great divide, the stuck in a rut
Here is our chance to leave New York's hut
I understand I am leaving
But
Is not with you in tow
I love you so fiercely
I wish right now you all could go
I am going to plant some seeds in
California the State of the Sun
To which and where our Legacy will soon become
Today day 1 the hardest
The day I have to Stretch
Without the ones so dear to me
I will be back to fetch!
Always as you read know you are with me in my heart
I will not go to fail us
But
Get us a brand new start
California Dreaming
about to Reality
I cant wait to come back and get you
So you can be with me!

From Pennsylvania to Oregon
Broken, painful, and haunted memories.
Shuffling through items to determine their fate.
Burning my skin, my cheeks, why did I keep those memories for this long?
A relief fills my central nervous system as I draw out the infect capsules laying waste to my body.
Sweet, romantic, and familure memories.
There is only so much space on my horseless carriage.
Juicy to the touch, on my lips and tongue like a pomegranate, leaving me wanting more.
A sorrow fills my eyes as I pour out the dried flowers petals of lost loved ones.
The essentials: blankets, clothes, pots and pans.
The heirlooms: a dish set, jewelry, a dress, a bible.
Funny, I don't even believe in God.
My most prized possessions, my letters, my journals.
To remember a time past, many other lives that I lived.
My bread crumbs to remind me where I came from and how I got here.
Precious food for my soul to help me get up and keep moving forward.
From Pennsylvania to Oregon,
~Cheers

A cross-country trip that should
Take about five days at most.
Maybe more.
And during that time, we won't get to talk.
I'll miss you
and my heart aches just thinking about it.
But I know that this is something
you have to do.
I'll be waiting for you.
I hope you'll be safe.
And I know that you'll
miss me too.

Striding against gust,
On the verge of victory
Finish line in sight!
