The sun's goodnight brings a gentle hush Over fields of flowers and greenery, lush Cotton candy clouds float through the sky Reminders of childhood and summers gone by Hills tinged with blue cradle trees growing tall From the barn we hear singing — a nightingale's call All's right with the world on this quiet night When beauty surrounds and dreams can take flight

The World Says Goodnight
Baths outside — It's a country thing... After a hard day’s work of rounding cattle, shovelling steamy **** hoeing weeds, woe, fixing fences fast fit and grounding the grass, you’ll mantle it; the horses and red-hot stamp them with bit... You may break for brunch, coffee (necessity!) and a bite to eat, But then it’s back on your feet. For more jobs to greet... When the singe-worthy sun starts setting, slipping behind the slopes, staged in the set background, as on 'McLeod's Daughters' and ‘Yellowstone’ found— You throw off your clothes and get right in, ohhh sounds (insert) to the outside bath, And soak off the grime from your bones, worn out. Sip an icy-cold beer or shot a wild whiskey, with relieving cheer! "ahhhhhhhhhhhh!"

I love the country life, in between the feral cats and hawks. Morning coffee March I sip it with Irish crème and  smile. Last night I fell asleep inside her. Safe and sound and domesticated in her tight wet walls. We came together in determined silence. Family in the next room. I love the country life; the ponds and streams and sun soaked meadows. The wild asparagus and gooseberries. In her arms my spirit rests. My tired wings find a nest better than the barn swallows, stronger than the eagles. I'm a brook trout swimming through her veins. I love the country life. Coonhounds and cornflowers, coyotes yipping and bobcats tiptoeing up on shocked field mice. Last night, after we died a little in each other's arms, I gently rubbed her cheek and kissed her eyelids, nose, and lips. I breathed in deep the smell of lavender, *** and home, the safest fragrance I know.

I Love the Country Life
As you drive across the Moors Surrounded by Heather, Moss and Gorse Enjoy the scene before you; rolling hills of many colours Take the time, pull in, step out of your motor Breathe deeply, take time to just be Admire the grazing sheep and ponies Not a care in the world; roaming free priceless As you drive across the Moors Surrounded by Heather, Moss and Gorse Let your mind roam free Give yourself time for a break; breathe in the clean air Regenerate your mind become for just a moment become free without care priceless As you drive across the Moors Surrounded by Heather, Moss and Gorse Take note of the palette of colours; Red, orange, yellow, green Painting a most glorious rural landscape scene Breathtaking in its simplicity A million miles difference from the painting of a City priceless As you drive across the Moors Surrounded by Heather, Moss and Gorse Most of all be thankful, of course That some of our parks are protected from development and modern progress Preserved for us all to see To visit from time to time and just be free priceless

Heather, Moss.and Gorse
Today I saw a girl She was walking On a residential street She looked out of place But I knew her face It’s a small town So, of course, I knew her face Of course, I know her name She’s the Jones girl She’s a teenager I don’t know what she was doing Probably doing whatever it is Teenagers do On a Sunday afternoon In a small town Platinum white hair Piercings up her ear Future up in the air Scene and emo wristbands And a graphic tee Probably not from Hot Topic Because Hot Topic ain’t so hot here Here’s the thing She’d be the It Girl If it weren’t for her acne If it weren’t for her height If it weren’t for her weight If it weren’t for her interests If it weren’t for her hobbies If it weren’t for everything about her But her name And her age She deserves better I don’t like her Not personally But she does deserve better She deserves the city streets There, and only there, Can she can be who she wants to be And if she can’t? Then there’s no place I want to be Not one at all Because I want to be Where she, Where we all can be, Who we want to be
