Fairies are dancing in the coral, its colours -- are fading, sadly.

The deep-sea coral is a castle full of crowns: shoaling princess fish.

[ The deep-sea coral ]
The oil's spilled; the weekend’s spent. Battering rams adorn our newest cars. The coral's bleached, our girders bent, and as the ash falls, drones fly on Mars. The poker chips clank on the felt. Sweltering mules sway drunk in bars. A toddler falls, receives a welt, and as the fires grow, drones fly on Mars. I could not bear to speak the truth when you had asked me where went the stars. A cow sits in the kissing booth, and as the sky blackens, drones fly on Mars. The wind has fangs; my heart now sags. A feral pig grunts to mass applause, Now childish men hoist cryptic flags, and as the crops fail, drones fly on Mars.

On Mars
Long and lithe fingers, comfort moulded into cones, is where art kisses geometry and meets one of its own. Her hands are to touch manicured and glazed, you feel home and lost a Pharaoh now, and next a waif The nails, you find and wonder filed for a student and trimmed. Not a wisp of colour bare as a bone, naked and skinned. Snug in a life song, a pallbearer of untold griefs, they are a stark sight of colourless coral reefs.   On but a blue moon, they’re a savoury rare, when hungry eyes feast on the riotous fair. Why, one day, I ask thee? She would smile and wouldn’t tell. ‘Never felt like’, is her No Comment.

A girl who doesn’t paint her nails
~ *"The sea complains upon a thousand shores" Yet, I miss your current passing through me infinitely I tread this water in the hopes you will soon awaken like new horizon "my precious, the sea will never rest"* ~

Coral Sea
Your cherry coloured lips used to bring the coral blush on my cheeks. But now it boils my crimson within, leaving my face all scarlet with rage. You were the apple of my eye, as precious as ruby to me. But now, wine and water seem the same, and jam never tastes as sweet.

"What's your birthstone?   I don't know, Oh, I know--it's rock." Black rocks baking in the sun dot this beach Like chocolate chips in the dough They call to us Come climb, Come hop on us Find treasures hidden behind and between All our dark shadows, Lying as still as stone A large rock shape, Oh, it's grayer and duller, and there's sand sprinkled on it, And it's moving! It's Living Rock, The monk seal napping from its morning meal. Yes- we watch others walk right by him caught in their words, Unaware of the living amongst the rocks, Living Rock doesn't care His belly is full Gray sleek shape massaged by the wind with feast in your belly, So mighty tired! You taste your sleep for days, Clouds cover the day's starlight you seek, Your body begs for light, and yet Nobody can wake you from your slumber Not even the high pitched voices of children playing nor the fishing lines in and out of the tide What of your dreams Oh Large Gray Rock Do you dream of the ocean tossing Fish  into your mouth? Or of the warm sun coming to bake your skin? The salt water dances up your nostrils, You lift your head in mild protest Then let it rest on your Ancient bed of coral and shell bones My feet love to dig into your bed No insomnia for you sea creatures, Maybe I should count monk seals Instead of sheep when I want to sleep, Your body clock measures time Not in days or hours But in meals, in hunts In fullness, in emptiness Your sleep is well earned My friend We can learn from you. You bask, dream, Then awaken renewed To taste your ocean again,

I'm not a pretty sunset on the beach With small waves and a spring breeze. My waves are high They rumble fiercely. No coral reef but a bed of rocks that guards ***** and sea urchins. But I'll still love you more than the waves will ever love the shore.

At the stage of being novices making inroads gaining small advantages kids on a raft learning the craft of sailing not sinking keeping afloat on this ocean where hope is a tide that turns frequently. Experiences teach me it's all within reach we only need to persevere. I'm sat here when I should be out there, where are you?

Reefs
The Great Barrier Reef A beauty born out of rock and sand Seldom touched by human hand An image of beauty Slowly demolished By the unpolished The Great Barrier Reef An unexplained bleaching Its beauty compelling, Its color expelling. It lays in pain, Forever longing a voice. The Great Barrier Reef It burns with heat A half now surrendered To the changes from above A feeling unknown Whirlpools surging Destroying all we’ve known. The Great Barrier Reef She’d given up Hope. The destruction will never stop, Her perseverance now lost. But maybe someday, The world will once again live in peace. The Great Barrier Reef

Calling of Sea Corals
A most gracefully bird, but not of the air White caped waves are his clouds Water proof feathers is what he wears He stands on the beach mighty proud His wings won't let him fly But through the ocean he quickly glides You'll never see him in the sky Behind the corral is where he hids When lion seals are on the prowl His play ground is a winter wonderland He is by far the best dressed fowl With his dashing tuxedo he looks mighty grand By design he was denied freedom of fight But that my friend doesn't make him sad For in the ocean so deep he reaches new heights The icy slides are his launch pad He certainly is a wonderful bird To call him anything else would be absurd

The Penguin
with eyes still closed, my mind awakes to the ocean upon my door, it knocks with salty insolence, my land locked soul to lure. the thought of coral in chandeliers, tempts my feet from bed to floor, but twas the sound of kelp being plucked, that enticed me to explore. a tidal wave is just outside, where mackerel dance and more, schools of sea-life swim upstairs, to feed off shipwrecked floors. with eyes wide open, my mind asleep, my skin drops on the shore, my hands scale through my algae hair, and i hear the turtles lore. the manatees discuss it too, a tale of souls at war, who hear the knock and find reprieve, in an oceans wandering floor.

Restless Sea Skin
I am searching through the ghastly depths below the seas, Where the sunlight still shines through the waters. I find an interesting village...A haven for creatures in this Dead, lifeless ocean floor. I did not know so much life teemed through this rock. Intricate sea creatures swim through the teeming corals like red liquid flows through narrow blood vessels. Each with a purpose, each with a task. One species benefits the other, and vice versa. The sea cannot live without one, and one cannot live without the other. This makes me question the point of me being the world. Am I something of importance, Or a seemingly dangerous virus? Really, I cannot tell who I shall be, Until I live out the rest of my life, and find out, Who I really am, and the person that will grieve for me the most when I'm gone.
