#concealment
Wounds best healed,
When laid hidden,
Under the layers of concrete,
Clean, taped, and sealed.
Concrete poured on the metal,
Now all that remains is the setting time
Seeping and sneaking through what was meant to stay hidden,
Pressure rolling for impurities to settle.
Concealed before ready to be revealed,
Concrete needs time, care, and attention.
Flaws open cracks to weaken the structure,
A delusion of comfort mistaken for a shield.
Resistance with its own assistance,
Concrete learns stillness,
Against thunder-stricken rain,
Friction of rumbling shoes and restless machines.
Growling of drills,
Carves passages for the flaws,
Only to block them for reasons that still,
Trapping them back into its build.
Contentment turns to resentment,
None recovered, none forgotten
Deep under lie cracks past discernment,
At what point do we blame the construction?

Praise to fright,
Out of sight,
I hold my light.
I hold it darkness;
Others see it as bliss,
I see something’s amiss.
Praise I hate.
Bliss, leave it to fate,
And none the better to crate.
I practice low,
To hold my light amongst flow,
To gather more to not show,
For what needs to sow.
I hold my light.
I know.
I hide the blight.
They won’t know.
I hide their sight,
For fear they woe.
Difference is the fear,
The normalcy that is clear.
For the light they hate,
The darkness full they ate.
I know their bait.
For my lights timid,
And For that I hid.

*The quest for invisibility
Leads them here
Your ***** little secrets
Venture out at night
To drink and dance
Into thin air
Your snow melts
Your stars flicker out
But they're not
Beyond detection
When the party's
Not over yet*

Wore his hat so low,
You can't see his eyes
As one would know
The eyes are the mirrors of the soul.

If we threw off each person's veil,
Revealed the darkness that exists in each,
Many would be taken aback,
A keen understanding we would reach.
There is bad in each person,
Some conceal it better than others;
They fret that their sin is showing,
To their sisters and brothers.
There is also good present
In all of earth's people;
Even the ones that we deem
To be irrefutably evil.
No human is perfect,
For we are a very imperfect species;
We thrive on the emotion that builds and breaks us,
The things that teach or break us to pieces.
I am not calling you to remove your veil,
Nor do you have to tell your sins;
I am simply saying examine yourself,
Your outs and your ins.
Know yourself better than you know
This complicated world;
Only then will you find peace
During life into which you were hurled.
