When was the last time someone asked— really asked— “How are you?” Not just the words, not just a passing phrase dropped in the space between hello and goodbye, but a question that waited, lingered, held its breath for the truth. When was the last time someone cared? Not out of habit, not out of duty, but because your silence felt heavy, because your laughter didn’t reach your eyes, because they noticed what you’ve been too busy to see. And have you even asked yourself? Past the noise, past the rehearsed replies, past the I’m fine that feels like a locked door. Have you stood still long enough to sit with the answer? Let’s put the banter to one side. Easier said than done, I know. No need to overthink, no need to fix— just breathe. Just be. And if no one else asks today, then I will: How are you, really?

When Was the Last Time?
Sometimes, tides behind teeth get stuck as if the moon, distracted, looses its inexorable pull then all the weight of water sits stagnant while each pescatarian thought from the zipping, inconsequential minnow to the ponderous whale bulk sulks, sick and stuck If you see these green gills, or the overspill in the eyes of those you know maybe sit awhile, harbour side and cast a line or two

Brushes of Golden spark, Igniting enigmatic eyes…. Bringing out the beauty inside out. Often they say “you’re beautiful”, Seldom they mean… Invariably unfailingly they match beauty inside and out. Capricious souls, always on lookout Claiming to love roses with thorns… Petrified with inside beauty if blown out. Malignant steps attempting to curb the blaze Demanding normality… For they dread the glowing light shining out It’s time to oppose the crowd Leaving those hollow soothings unanswered… Use that helpless wonder for the fears to break out. As the sun sets to rest Glorious reality checking in… Take that burning desire to shine from inside and out.

Beauty Inside Out
And so the shoe drops, Easily, easily It’s much easier for you to wound me, than wear your human mask over lizard skin. You gnash your teeth and flail your limbs, like a stupid ******* lizard person. How hard is it to check in when you’ve said something so worrying? How hard is it to speak? Or is it just that words don’t issue, from betwixt your lizard beak?
