I miss my little brother. Especially at harvest. He was a hard worker – strong back and long reach. The kind of brother you want around. ‘Course, there was much more to him than strength and size. His art demonstrates that. He used to love experimenting with oils in his down time and had a knack for vivid battle scenes. They say you paint what you know and not a year went by when he wasn’t called up for service. They would come to the farm to say the king needed him, and there was no refusing that call. What he saw on the front line haunted him. So much was expected of him of course, but I think we overestimated his ability to cope with the ordeal of combat. Folk mistook his stature for a propensity for violence that needed release. We knew different. He was happier in the fields.   I heard dad talking with him while he painted. It was clear my brother knew the value of a champion. The lives saved. The men who got to go back to their farms and families. The gods had gifted him, dad said. But when I see his canvases, that’s where I see the gift. Lasting reminders of the trauma that lesser men can wrought. Reminders of the suffering one man can save us from. I miss Goliath.

I think I'm startin' to get that feelin' again That sinkin' sensation followed by intense anticipation of the end I feel I'm facin' The hell my life is based in Then I meet up with my fear of drownin' Thoughts not safe havin' come crashin' in Will I ever learn or is this far beyond teachin' a lesson Up against my dark passenger, the undisputed, heavyweight champion And the challenger, in the blue corner noticably panickin' Just some guy with a crazy look in his eye but no business challengin' his demon My Hyde side stays undefeated while I've never recorded a win Bringin' my mental discipline into question Knowin' my armor's thin Knowin' I've already taken one to many to the chin It's  constant whisperin' drowns out everythin' Top tier manipulation allowin' the interjection of it's own spin On this tailspin my doomed zeppelin always finds itself in I feel like I should mention, it's not one, it's Legion Not a friend, it laid claim and became kingpin I could only watch like I was fifth in a five deep bullpen No consent given, not even a conversation Rushed past me like I was a doorman at a Motor Inn And I stood there silent, broken, incapable of motion Often thoughts and feelings are left unspoken Paralyzed with fear, just standin' here like a dollar store mannikin Behind a display of 151 and Heineken Made it easy for it to find it's way up under my skin I hardly even knew what was happenin' Now I don't know where it ends and I begin Not sure there's any separation ©2023

As the rain drops fell on my face, I felt my inhibitions slipping away. The world was finding new paths to trace, While I was regretting and cursing the day. The drops soon turned to a rivulet, My mind was trapped in a mesh, The rivulet flowed seamlessly without any regret, I was losing this game of chess. As I looked around I found I was standing on a pool, I deftly played my master stroke, I had finally proved that I was no longer an infatuated fool. The final clash and all the shackles effortlessly broke..

To Make Change
When you decide to fight To battle back against the night and it's dying ways Having seen the light which comes anew To trump the lights of ever eave When you've decided no longer to RUN but to BE You will become as one With every memory and hopeful dream Which your childlike self ever dared to dream

Living Legend Making History (TRUTH)
Apan karon, gamay nalang nga tulod, Para ikaw akong buhian.

In this coffin I lay, eyes shut and mouth open wide. Strangled to death, but alive. Barely making it, but taking the stride. Why hide? She walks with so much confidence She's so beautiful She's so inspirational WOW, I wish I had that much confidence' You not like other woman How is she so fearless? My past is dark, my body is bruised, my skin is scarred, and my blood still leaks. Taking me years to get to this stage of self love, I've been through battles, days where I thought I was about to die. Days where I thought nothing could help, punched in the face and defeated to ash, sleepless nights and robbed of all dignity, and days where I only slept and drained myself. My battle wounds are still visible, I live for the fight and I will die fighting, never back down. A black panther walks with grace, handles with strategy, and fights with integrity, still holding it's head **** high, a beautiful creature, they say. Tougher than a lion, effortlessly, without even trying. The animal kingdom has a new King, and it's me, the alpha female. I ain't like other woman, I embrace and devour courage, strength, bravery, fearlessness, independence... Staring death in it's ****** face and ripping that **** mask off and whispering, "who's the coward now, beautiful" laughing sarcastically, DEATH does not exist, nothing ever really dies, a soul lives for eternity until the journey is accomplished, a champion never gives up, determination and pride, a self encouraged vanity. So, in this coffin I lay, eyes shut, mouth wide open, strangled to death. But somehow, through all the physical, emotional, spiritual, and mental pain... (Laughs in sadistic mystery) I am still alive.

Old man with his Atacama tongue dusting off stories of his youth forty-nine knock outs he spattered out heavy weight champion travelin' the world stories of tribes auctioning off slaves that they couldn't sell that became that nights meal pieces in a stew how it could make a man cry and cry oiling up trees so the lions slide right off tent births and baseball cards a preacher neighbor who beat a woman then had his teeth knock out by the holy word then points out his bird houses only to dive deep into something else "Old man" says I, "I have to return to work but next time I will save your stop for last. There's an oasis in that head of yours and I tend to bask in it."

"I was Born in a Tent"
I refuse to believe That I am defective I will not apologize For the scar tissue Proclaiming evidence Of my battles I did not start my war I was not born Fighting and clawing I learned to do this To win the wars Waged upon me I refuse to believe That I am defective My scar tissue shows The wars I chose to finish

Champion; what does it mean? How can you be a champion? "And I'm back with a madness;" a Madness that comes and goes, but "I'm a champion of the People who don't believe in champions." If I can live through this, I can do anything!" Only you can control you're life and don't let Nobody tell you you're not a champion!                        Stay Strong, you can do anything!

So I wrote another copy of Champion-here it is;
*Champion*; what does it mean? How can you be a champion? Always afraid, but *"there's a fog from the past that's giving Me, giving me such a headache,"* *"I'm a champion of the People who don't believe in champions."* *I got nothing but dreams inside!"* You are the Only one in charge of your future. No one can tell you what to believe in and                  Remember; *"If I can live through this,                                                                  I can do anything!"*

Here comes the Champion of the night he raises his fists; first the left, then the right. You think you have a chance with him?! But wait till he's all glittering That's when he is ready for the fight and becomes the Champion of the night! They call him 'The Eye of the Tiger' coz he makes you fly high and higher. When his fist hits you There's nothing you can do! He comes with glitter and in tiger pants. Believe me, that's why he has a chance. All the girls are at his feet, and no enemy to defeat. The Captain of Pop who would have thought, with just one party fight became the Champion of the night!

Who owes the title?
From the boy weighing up his evening with her... "When I'm with you I'm the heavyweight champion of weightless ...When I'm not I'm just dead weight."

Weighing up how I feel about her
Oh, to sleep the sleep of youth; Peaceful dreams, and blissful truth When every morning brings the sun, Battles fought, and victories won! Victory sweet, misfortune **** Yet those that bear a champion’s heart Stand upright, tall, despite the end, And humbly shake opponent's hand Congratulations on fine play To meet, compete another day Hope the foe will others tell, “He fought with honor, he played well.” Oh, how the aging fight with sleep; Nightmares, abject fears run deep That life on earth is almost done, Morning might not bring the sun. Once strong, the warrior now is frail In the final battle death prevails, Though none but God has kept the score The champion longs for one quest more Long life results in necessity To replace lost skills with strategy We long to hear, at final bell, “He fought with honor, he played well.” PWL 12/25/16

The Champion
If something is not there in it’s place of which something was thought prior, definitely there must be something new in it's place. As it happens in life so does in race, Day is followed by night, night followed by day and again by night. Similarly also in race Most of the times it’s the old that replaces the new and makes it’s presence felt Definitely champions aren't born, they are made.

CHAMPION - REBEL WITH A CAUSE
Undefeated. Undisputed. 12 wins, 0 losses. A perfect 12-0 record. You’re the crowd’s favorite as Vegas odds are in your favor. Through the years of being in this game, you can almost get used to the fame. “This fight’s going to be an easy one” – you assured your Coach. You enter the octagon and see her warming up. Then you hear Bruce Buffer laying out the ground rules. You’re excited – but nervous. You feel the pressure of having to live up to everyone’s expectations. From your coach to the little girl on the other side of the world rooting for you. You thought it was going to be another landslide victory. Barely 2 minutes in and you feel scared. Suddenly, you feel a numbing pain on your chin. It was a left hook. As you fall face first, you feel nothing. Your unconscious body lays flat on the octagon floor. Lights out. Moments later you wake up to the sound of the fans cheering in the octagon. A left hook was all it took for your dream of retiring undefeated to come crashing down. For the first time, it wasn’t your arm that was raised by Herb Dean. For the first time, you heard the words, “….and the new Featherweight champion” You don't let it sink in at first but you can only hold back for too long before you realize that you lost. You stood up, wiped the sweat off of your forehead, removed your gloves and marched out. Suddenly you feel this weird feeling of embarrassment. "So this is how it feels to lose?" you said to yourself. You found a chair, sat down and composed yourself. You’re still in one piece, which is a good thing but you know that fact cannot compensate for the emotional disorientation you felt. Broken bones really do heal faster than injured egos. Maybe your loss was a way of knocking some sense into you. Winning is not everything, the same way that losing is not. Sometimes you need to experience defeat in order to appreciate how satisfying every victory is. As a fan, I know it's going to be hard to bounce back from this loss. But you're going to be okay, champ. You always do.
