Every since I was born I have been defeating the beast called cerebral palsy
And then I grew up getting used to all the doctor's appointments and surgeries
Because really that's all I've been known to do is to defeat the beast
I have definitely had my fair share of ups and downs and bad days and good days
Challenging situations have come but I defeat it as hard as I can
The past few years and some days my grip has been a little shaky while trying to defeat this beast
It really hits when we come down to the last option and other things keep popping up
When you enter into adulthood and things that wasn't so hard before is very challenging now
I'm in my twenties now and man it's become a challenge
You gotta laugh to keep from crying when moving your body
All of us trying to fit this beast into our lives
We are all defeating the beast called cerebral palsy in our own ways
But the best thing is that we have each other to lean on and gain support from
We are defeating this beast together
Togetherness we will stay and delete the beast
With God by our side we can defeat anything that comes in our path
