#boughs
Stripped bare of foilage Stark branches sway naked Seasons stole garments Bright colors dully faded Shivering in Autumn breezes Wearing only dainty underwear Waiting for snowfalls evening gown To cloak bark from nature's stare Curled toes tucked deep in cold hard earth Fingers outstretched toward sky Limbs too weak for ascending Dried blobs of sap tears cried My trunk hollowed out inside Empty soul a hopeless pit Green replaced by yellows and browns Decayed leaves shedding bit by bit Stress puts tension on boughs Wood weakened under weight Growing old as time increases rings Til this dying tree completely breaks

I'm the girl with a yellow mac and red stockings. When it's autumnal, I kick the weathered leaves and stand neath the boughs, whispering to the impending season i stand alone and need no one else.

impending
as the leaves fell from the autumn boughs he evoked to mind their marriage vows the golden maple's hues reminded him of her wedding ring it stood for something lasting yet their love perished in the cooling wind's chill which was for him a most bitter pill the brown colours of November tumbled into his empty heart for his once loving wife did take leave his eyes filled with tears as the skies clouded in grey their union of love on the autumn boughs drifted away

Autumn Boughs
on the tree's denuded boughs a flight of parrots did land to take rest before flying o'er the riverbed
