The Moon harbors her light
For the amorous
Whose elegant waltz heightens
As if their happiness were of neon balloons
Drifting to the heavens
Oblivious of those who walk in the dark
There in the night
Amongst the cricket orchestra
I tread on the hollowed ground of-
Barren streets
A burden to none
As envy grips the veins
Greening my eyes
I walk alone.
As lovers kiss
I dismiss
Tender embraces
Met the end of poisoned bottles
The elixir a curse
And worse-
I search with discontent
As tired eyes and weathered frowns
Go hidden in insincere masquerades
Silent tears.
Yet in the gentle tropic breeze
Of these a many summer's eve
I stare off into her beautiful glow
And she back at me
Together we walk alone
Amorously

Sleepless summer nights,
salty golden curls,
green swim shorts,
charming, star-speckled smiles.
Soft-spoken words,
guileless promises,
chilled beach air,
lapping waves,
crickets chirping,
cans cracking,
laughter echoing through darkness—
bonfires illuminating faces.
Lost in the labyrinth of bare love,
mistakes made,
heartbreak— inevitable.
Sunburnt hearts.

A bonfire blaze adorns the darkness,
Warming two hearts on winter's night.
My heart pulse unwinds, in gentle rhyme,
As I gaze at you, lost in time.
I long to sleep in the depth of your eyes,
Till the rest of my life, where love resides.
No fear of darkness, not even death,
With you, I find eternal breath.
Wish my last breath in your arms,
Where warmth and love forever disarm.
In your eyes, my soul finds its nest,
Forever entwined, our love will rest.

bonfire's on a chilly night
warmly bundled into hoodies
joy in everyone's eyes
we'll talk all night
the ups and downs
so in love with life
the laughter echoes
phones tucked away
our youth is safe

Strike a match in the dark,
Watch your childhood spark to life.
In a momentary flicker of the past
Relive the scent of bonfire nights;
Where sulphur rockets are heaven bound,
And the orange glow of fire lit faces
Come congoured from the dark of time.
But burns short the magic in that light,
It dwindles fast like youth itself,
Each memory blown away like smoke.
But for just one moment that magic shone
And in those seconds a child came home.

you and me
and our cheesy
selves
twinkling as the ashes
burst out of the effervescent
bonfire
i’m wearing your
awfully
baggy
sweater and
i look like a little
marshmallow
in an old mug
of hot cocoa
you pull me into your
sturdy arms
the breeze whips through
whistling like a singsong
we’re cuddled up next
by the snug heat
of the wood burning
orange sheet
you’re holding me
around my belly
(you know how much
i hate that word)
the fire builds cityscapes
and countrysides
and warm embraces
cheeks are rosy
hearts are cozy
ashy smoky
atmosphere
burning bark
and rustic willow
leaves chattering
murmuring
in the silence
of the
frozen in time
night
i fall asleep
in your lap
so you lay me down
tenderly
and i still smell the
smoldering fire
as you put the flame
to rest
and the hazy smoke
envelops our stationary
bodies
flawlessly
appressed

A firework
Of brightest colours
Dances slow
Beneath the stars
Torches and candles
Iron braziers' light
Glowing warm
In blue midnight
Gowns of silk
Fineries of all kind
Whirling in solemnity
"A dance, do you mind?"
A thousand miles from sorrow
High society indeed
La crème de la crème
The very best of breed
Extravagance never is
Too extra for those ladies fair
Gossiping girls, all of them
"Oh, look, this lady's hair!..."
Gentlemen bowing
Talking with hushed voices
Trading, socializing
Polite merchants' noises
"This daughter of mine,
She might well catch your eye..."
This just a market of brides n' grooms
An exchange, !!one truth for a hundred lies!!
Gossip girls and merchants noble
Less n' less real knights and dames
Nobility used to mean heroes, and protection
But long extinct, those once bright flames
The only light there, now,
Comes from a stake pile in the debris
Burning bright, but in truth all hollow
This great bonfire of vanities

The bonfire is lit warm,
It is comfortable as a quilt.
We look at the photos,
Inside of our wallets.
The parents, the wife and kids,
Probably for the last time we kiss.
Tomorrow is the final battle,
We make a treatise with death.
Either she takes the novice boys,
Or let us send them to her.

The week has to have a weekend
Days have to have a tomorrow
And goodbye to yesterday’s/
In turns will bring the months to an end/
What do we have to face
moving forward setbacks and more
worried looks in the bystanders eyes..
When all is set and done, we have to say grace
We have to look up every morning and whisper to the skies.
The news broadcaster’s never speak of genuine love,
They only wishes to be littered,
While, begging folks to do their part
The cooing of the dark lonely dove
a symbol that there’s is no more love in ones heart
during the these stressful day/
Ten o’clock curfew at night,\/
Essentials workers must only be seen at dawn/
No more than ten to twelve people on sight/
And large outstanding gathering must be gone/
Black Friday’s deals, window shopping strolls
Everything seem on hold, the biggest black hole of 2020/
And nothing spoke to me: not even a 60 inch flatscreen TV/
Let’s take a page from the Jewish customs
Bury the dead in the next seventy two hours/
All November traditions is limit/
Thanksgiving Day a Tic, tok
All Saints Day, All Souls Day, Mischief Night, Bonfire Night
Once you take down the statues, of useless figures
Would History of the injustices will be erase/

Wrap me in your warmth, it's cold out here
Keep me locked in your embrace
By the bonfire, allow my body to caress yours
From the curves of your lips, the flavor of love, let me taste
Let our bodies be entangled, our souls interlocked
Under the starry sky, let's engage in a passionate play
Delicately I will touch, the most sacred corners of your body
Allow me to remind you how it feels to be loved, let me take you away

With child’s eyes
We wait for the surprise
A fizz, a sparkle
A burst of colour
Excited point and show
Your daddy where his eyes should go
Face pressed to the window
In a dark room
To see better
In the potential of the gloom

Sullen leaves forlorn now at the edges -
dripping tips say the story of the night:
the thunder - is all over the road, scattered
in the branches fallen; it is the mud and slush
that tell how the sky wept in the hour;
Eyes still moist and still welling up -
must be a field abounding in blades
of tall them leaves of grass flowering, and
the rain drenching the soul; Now the sky
invisible behind the veil of tear-clouds;
The mind longs for the warmth of home
heart longs to stay there half-sunk knee-high.
Only one night that matters in the journey:
life but a gathering of memories plucked
from the fleeting world; Only one night
when fireworks light the sky and a lonely
heart beats as one with another, though apart
distant in the milling Guy Fawkes' night

We spent hours witnessing the fall of leaves in autumn
The way they swayed away with the breeze
A bonfire in the moonlight and you by my side
I wish I would've wished for the time to freeze.
I never wanted to wave the final goodbye, you had me captivated
Instead, all I urged was us to lay on the ground, love and tease
And do nothing but gaze at the falling leaves
Feel the air in my hair and together breathe out all the grief.

And then there was evening.
The edge of our estate, a wire fence.
We ducked under it, Cole's fat neck scraped,
he squealed.
Older boys sniggered.
Once buildings grew here,
it now sprouted vegetation.
We picked our way through.
Here we built the world: a haven of ***** mattresses and wooden boards
holding shaped rocks and bones found somewhere,
that hint of death.
Cain was bigger than the rest.
He liked fire,
pushed at the mattresses, unsettling dust.
He picked up a stick and beat down the walls,
eyes filled with that blaze.
Suddenly sticks flew,
we thrashed with fury and rage and everything,
at our creation.
Soon our jigsaw walls were waste upon the ground.
Then there was light.
Cain's father, passed out, drunk,
missed the silver lighter his son produced.
Roaring flame which singed our nostril hairs,
smelling bonfire for a week after.
Cain's eyes saw everything.
We stood, in his image,
chests heaving, we looked at what was done.
I was scolded when I returned home late with sooty skin,
and went to bed
with tear tracks on red scrubbed cheeks.
And there was morning.

Golden bells,—bedight o'er towers—
Amidst the betrothing melody,
The touch of stained glass—
Beams the rosary beads
Binding me with a man held high;
Now to be crowned his wife.
"My lord, lend me thy right hand,
As thy loyal servant,—
I vow to pledge our country."
The Moonlight Song,— let our haunches be mere pitches—
Of forests rocked by branches
Ah, my fatal reverie—
Savor this antique scenery,
With classic gothic frames,
And worn laces,—Peaking the figures'desires
Cradle me,—
And thou shalt drink my glass,—
To offer a sip;-- so to paint moist on windows.
Sunrise, leap me to this town!—
How gracious men and children,
I shalt dress all thee;-—Make a stronghold that prospers the needy;
Lest the void of promised land—
Wither the faith of mankind.
With the King's side,
Reformation sets the nation to affluence;
The bonfire relives the glorious centuries—
Never scorn, swords unfold!

The soft crisp of heat ever glowing in the air. The fire quickly heating the vicinity with a warm embrace.
I've never had the confidence to tell you how I truly feel.
As you look deep into that bonfire and let your shadow outcast your past.
I'm going to step in your shadow and say the words "I Love You" in hope just like your shadow these feelings will follow you for the rest of your life.
Just until the day, I have the courage to tell your heart directly.....

You started a bonfire.
Oh baby, all I see is red.
And as I dance sensually with the flames.
I can feel it.
My soul.
It’s in danger.

Up there in the mountains, a mighty lake
Lies near the Valley of flowers.
Let me carry you there
It takes a day's trek.
Let's start a bonfire to match
our burning desire.
Let me wrap my hand around your hips
And we will stare at the endless horizon.
Let the lake envy your eyes,
As it can't match the depth
There I will plant a peck on your cheek,
A cheek as spotless as the lake surface .
Lie me on your lap dear, let me wrap my hand Around your waist and kiss your navel.
Bend down and kiss me, my dove.
Let me suckle the warmth of your lips
Let's put out the bonfire
And let the passion burn the night.
Let's live the life of an eternity.
In that night of perpetual bliss.

He smelled of a bonfire;
Burnt wood and charcoal ashes
With a hint of a dewy forest musk
Why must it be him?
Where have you gone?

He was as bright as the sparks
dancing above the flames,
He burnt amidst the darkness,
Singeing those who were caught
In a trance,
He was mesmerising and magical,
Exciting and ephemeral.
I daren’t breathe, or,
I could ***** out his light.
