nobody was in here nobody but an old man maybe the worker most times outside smoking a cigar but today this girl blue long wavy hair downtown aesthetic almost headphones over her ears you reach for the record but there her painted black nails are reaching at the same time "were you- were you gonna get that?" she sounds almost british you were gonna tell her you've been looking for it for months and finally waited for it to come in today "oh-oh no! you can...you can have it" she takes the record and smiles at you you watch her legs move slowly around browsing the store her blue ocean eyes waving over you oh God she was beautiful as you leave the store she runs up to you "hey- I got this for you" in her hands is a record and a note you look up from your hands and shes gone all you see is her blue hair and a note that reads find me where the waves meet the sea- love iris

last night I laid in bed calling my gf like I usually did but yesterday was different she brought up that one show- your old favorite show I couldn't hold back the tears you ruined it you ruined everything you ruined every song I listened to you ruined my gfs show she wanted to watch with me you ruined the musical I was waiting to see you ruined the words I wanted to say you ruined every form of love I wanted to give you ruined where my best friend lived you ruined the idea of long distance relationships you ruined dying your hair blue you ruined your favorite animal your ruined my old favorite flower you ruined everything and that night as I sobbed I hoped my gf wouldn't do the same

You're like a window Light shines through But it's dark inside Cardigans for Curtains All those lovely shapes, beside Depending on the weather Sometimes you're blue (Don't forget I can see through) Sometimes you're black Sometimes stars get stuck            Fixation, Oxygen deprivation Where would we be without you...?                     dot, dot, dot, Question The stars get stuck in the cracks Obviously a metaphor for your flaws And these lines/curves/obscurities                   of my vision Help me see you Prism, dancing, and trying to age like wine Getting, getting better all the time Reflect it back    Childhood Magnolia leaves Currently being abandoned              Streets Real Estate    And different Paint Then College NOT taking you're money "Too bad, see you next time honey" Lanterns and Moths like houseguests    Here to assess the property damage You are not Real Estate You are a Window Light shines through Ivy like a crown Curtains like a blanket You're looking from the corner Feeling like the abandoned streets Ex boyfriend like kids throwing stones                       their blind, so they usually miss...you're beauty You may crack, fracture, fractal But you are Urban                    There will be renewal Here comes the repairman (Not that you need a man)             Band-aids & stickers Heartache like a stomachache And he's looking in There's the Windowsill Light Shines through You are more than a Window But it's dark inside
