Petulant and persnickety--you morally deficient paupers: likening to a pendulum that has swung to an extreme precipice. How many perchances do we give to perpetuate these preposterous positions in life? ...as many as we choose, as many as we choose, or not. Dangling threads unravel so readily; awaiting their final and ultimate destination. Hang on! Their story is worthy of being shared and they too, demand their space and time. "We will not go quietly into the night!" they say. We will turn our backs to the dark and walk into the light! As long as it takes... And when swept to the ground, they rise up again and again; miracles can astound. From the streets of Selma, To the barrios of East LA, From the sullied jungles of Vietnam, to the shores of Tripoli, when darkest night hits below the belt, Standing strong doesn't seem like the sweetest song. Sometimes, you just wanna cry… but you don't always...so, you breathe in a deep, heavy sigh. Take it in, loyal citizens, millennials, hippies of yesteryear, Find your course of action! The reins are shifting in your direction and the sands in the hourglass are running thin. Do not sit still in your comfortable and soft chairs, You can't afford to put on any airs. Fall down, stand up! Fall to the ground, get up! Resting on laurels won't cut the cord now, Feasting on cake won't counteract the imbalance. Make no mistake and Mark my words, This is not a new normal This, is not any kind of normal. Search your heart and search it alone, Stand not in wont or despair, Rise up generation! Ya gotta force your hand and make it be square. Others have tread this path before, Step up to the threshold and walk through the door. 2 x 2 and 4 x 4… Jiminy crickets and 'Four Score', if you see through that screen. Give your "last full measure of devotion" to this cautionary tale, Not a minute to lose, run Fast to the sea's edge, Keep your hat on your head and be truest to yourself, "Now, cast your nets wherever you wish,"… and sing songs of love, where most men choose to fish. Climb up that mountaintop and sing courageous songs, All men and women together, This is where we all belong!
