Cold womb, cold womb why do you always fail? What have I done for you to turn your back on me? Is this punishment for a sin I don’t remember committing? My body feels broken, my womb a room without heat. I was born a woman but my body forgot the instructions. My periods fade into memory, ghosts of something I once knew. Every cramp becomes a prayer. Every ache, a promise whispered maybe this is it. But it never is. Just false hope, over and over, a calendar mocking me with empty squares. Do you know what it’s like to feel your back ache and think, it’s coming, only to be met with silence? To stand outside circles of women talking blood and cycles like it’s weather while you nod, quiet, excluded? Not that I never bled. Just not anymore. I refuse to believe I must swallow medicine just to feel normal, just to be allowed into my body again. Cold womb, cold womb, please don’t fail me. I want to be a mother. I’m tired of it never being me. Tired of imagining. Tired of hoping alone. Can’t you hear my cries? Can’t you feel this grief curling inside my ribs? I am the only one in my life who doesn’t know the miracle of kicks beneath skin. Oh, what a blessing it would be to lose sleep because someone needs me. Cold womb, cold womb don’t let me be the only one who cannot recreate the love I carry.

Cold womb
You’re inspired by works of art but never your own you quote the lines the lyrics the rows of text the syllables the symphonies the tone the noise the scene the length the rhythm the end So why? I ask Your strange way It’s off I must confess, yes. Your Hemingway Your Frost Your Gatsby Your Expectations Your Odyssey Your Interview Your holy Conclave. Your society you love these dead poets so much but you’re weary to follow Your music is a jagged creek A stream of anger romance tragedy Your rhythm is wrong Your meter’s a mess You reference the dirt six feet under the ground You’re no Silverstein no Rowling no Spielberg no Nolan no Gibbard no Yorke no Mercury you must end it all You contradict, you’re fake you write, you’re wrong you erase, finally. You’re so ******* sure but you see the look in their eyes the horror the fear the pity the smirk The vinyl comes to a screeching stop the paper is ripped to thin, thin shreds the screen combusts flame soaring through the halls You’re inspired by these authors these makers these singers these works of art you tare apart their quiet snaps you only win when they understand It’s not their problem, of course You’re just too much All at once to explain your broken work you write too much your worry grows the window’s open the air’s not brisk you have your mind And that’s enough you’re no one special In this big big world.

Always expect disappointment
On this page, I'm in spring the flowers blooming, birds chirping, and nature, flourishing. On the next page, it's winter the leaves are withered, the floor, snow-covered and nature, from the cold shivers. On the following page, I'm royalty, basking in wealth and glory, overlooking the masses, whilst enjoying all delicacies. On the following one, I'm on the streets, scavenging and pilfering, experiencing what life is for the destitute. Each page takes me on a different journey. It wraps me amidst its words and carries me along in its story. It's neverending and ever-soothing. To you, I might appear lost; as I am drowned in the world of books; my mind drifting from one universe to another. But I can't be anymore aware, right, found, and alive in this world, than I am in reality.

Lost
Humble greetings all we rise or fall upon the swords which are our words steel of critics teeth to edge the blade, a thousand stings and stabs or gentle and much softer blows which fortune falls upon the writers head is not for us to tell, what literary hell awaits who knows

A recent epiphany
Whenever I feel confident enough To tackle all that is tough It is you, who will get the credit Because, your passion is almost impossible to beat On the other hand, whenever am I down I know I am not alone Because, your fiery writing fills me with hope And ensures I no longer mope Well, I am a fan of quite a few poets Yet, very few produce the kind of effect That you somehow manage to do without even breaking a sweat Your work sounds a red alert To the entire Indian literary scene Which has an unfortunate obsession With being politically correct You, on the other hand, are so direct That you tackle every single issue head-on Greatly do I admire, your grit and gumption Though I share not, your profession Always, do I derive motivation From your never-say-die spirit Thus, bit by bit Do I summon the courage and strength To do my very best Fighting every single fear and insecurity And climbing the huge wall of positivity Which would ultimately lead me to success Of course, I do fail sometimes But thanks to you, afraid am I not To push the limits And never will I give up Because, again, you fill me with so much hope That even the impossible suddenly becomes possible And the possible becomes probable Thank you so much, Dear Comrade! How Am I Inspired by Dr Meena Kandasamy
There is no one in this world Who matters to me more than you The lone exception being Jesus Christ Were you to be put through any test No matter how rigorous or torturous I have no doubt you would emerge victorious This is not to say you would find everything easy After all, in life, is nothing ever easy However, you have faced the worst And emerged among the best So many people hate you to the core However, none of them do you fear Never, will you be silenced My heart, have you stolen And I am sure I am not alone You have as many ardent admirers As you have fierce adversaries Thanks to you, am I able to find the courage To break free from my cage Which is full of numerous anxieties and insecurities And make my way towards finally finding inner peace Nobody has made such an impact on me As you have done Thanks to you, can I smile through my pain Because, no one dares the way you do Not a lot of things, do you rue Because, you are thoroughly independent And at the same time, not hellbent On doing anything with blind faith Well, here's wishing you loads of happiness, peace and good health And as always, may you be blessed by the Lord!!

An Ode to Dr Meena Kandasamy
Acrimonious ****** oh, to such a wanted piece of thought, falling carelessly as a leaf blown in a sceptical kind of winds, and with their goal of rattling me. The present fortunes present themselves as a mystery unsolved, the many spasms in a day, constricted by the extravagance of wanting to be heard; but the audience is so uninvolved As I sometimes misplace my identity in my own words- as when I misplace worries into the formula of my concerns. The lessor faith in words, frames on the highest platform; in the endless echoes of a writer’s afterlife- where their once idolized muses, are blessed enough to be seen as something appreciated as gods- __a Poetic pantheon__ Creativity is like two gloved hands, that choke out the reader’s eyes, suffocating them to see new found knowledge, in the loss of consciousness. As the stage is set; upon the tears of the world, being the opening curtains to such an encore performance; an audience made up of eyes hungry for more. The author’s responsibility to provide to them all, a due course of sustainable food for thought. As the world feeds the writer the vilest of things, to in turn create something ameliorates in place of it.

Food for Thought
Thou art my last hope Do my best I shall, not to mope Thanks to you, and you alone Because, you have been through so much pain Yet, have you always emerged strong Very rarely, has your judgement been wrong These days, I seem to be doing nothing right But thanks to you, do I somehow manage to see the light You motivate me so much That I feel like I am on a beach Watching the waves rise and fall And being at peace, all in all Suddenly, do I begin to feel That the possibility of achieving the impossible is very real Always, have you been a fighter Pushing harder and harder Against the tallest of odds Carrying an extremely heavy load On your already weary shoulders Really, are you a warrior! Thou art my last hope Even when there is a queen-sized gap Between expectations and reality Never do you think of giving up Because, so much do you care about humanity Thanks to you, will I try my best not to give up Always, do you have the mindset That there is nothing to lose And never do you mind, being imperfect Even when there is everything to lose You are the person, who puts a smile on my face During my darkest times If I emerge successful in life Remember you I will, for sure For inspiring me during times of strife Never do you put on airs Defined are you, by your humility Totally can I relate, to your brutal honesty Truly, are you a lioness Perfectly fits you, does the Tamil hit song 'Badass' You are one of the bravest Indian women A bulwark against upper caste male ********** And in spite of the numerous activities you have been doing Your maternal instincts continue to remain very strong Really, are you an allrounder And I can totally feel your righteous anger Whenever there is even the tiniest injustice Above all, do you dream of peace And a much better world Well, are you absolute gold As far as character is concerned Therefore, you are a person whom I've always greatly admired Indeed, thou art my last hope Hence, for you will I always clap Please keep fighting and keep inspiring And may the Lord bless you with everything Which you have ever dreamed of!!

Thou art an amazing human being Your poetry is something That I could go on reading and reading And never feel bored at all Because, I love how you make the mighty fall Showing the world that they truly are Which is, nothing but a bunch of pretentious bores! Thou art an amazing human being Thanks to whom, are things always happening Always, do you hit the bull's eye When it cometh to calling out casteism and misogyny Not to mention, are you incredibly courageous What you write, has often been called "outrageous" However, in my opinion Nothing could ever come closer to the truth And never have I been prouder of any person Especially given that, nowadays, is there a dearth Of truly radical thinkers With the system, does nobody dare to tinker!! Thou art an amazing human being I find your books extremely inspiring Not to mention, is your activism of supreme importance Particularly given that, nowadays, very few dare to take a chance And challenge the existing class and caste structure A role model are you, for everyone who aspires To try and bring about a societal transformation Not to mention, repeatedly have you breached the bastion Of cis hetero male ********** Thou art an amazing human being Never do you give up on anything Compassionate are you, to the core A very caring mother Who somehow manages to devote time to her children In spite of being in the midst of so much action Not to mention, a lot of genuine respect do you have For your fans and admirers Something that we greatly love Oh, and ***** your haters!! Just be the way you are And may Jesus bless you, for now and forever!!

You make me so proud Because, always do you say it so loud A powerful crusader against injustice Often, do you stand on the edge of a precipice And scream so that the whole world can hear Year after year How ****** up is our country An utter sham of a democracy Always, do you walk the talk Haters may say you often sulk However, they cannot be more wrong Because, like a honeybee, do you sting Where it hurts them the most Really, art thou the best When it cometh to using words as a weapon Your books are an emotion And your activism gives us all hope You certainly are not one to sit down and mope Even while the world comes crashing down No matter what, do it you can Because, you are the fire that burns Even when it rains cats and dogs! You make me so proud Thanks to you, is it not so hard To believe that we can truly annihilate caste We will ensure your pathbreaking work does not go waste Thou art one of the bravest parents Because, never do you allow motherhood to dent In any way, your never-ending fight for social justice In fact, you redefine independence Doing almost everything on your own Braving storm after storm And yet managing to maintain a modicum of calm As you set forth on an absolutely brutal journey In a tearing hurry In order to reclaim your stolen freedom Truly, are you a powerful beam Of light that never fades By the rules, you do not abide Because, you are simply a force of nature A human being most mature I repeat, you make me so proud That I want to say it loud VAAZHGA DR. I look up to you greatly Thou art an amazing lady In you, do I see a fire That refuses to die, no matter what You lay your soul threadbare Wit, is one of your greatest assets Never do you back down from a fight In a tunnel full of never-ending darkness Are you the light Which keeps emptiness and depression at bay And puts us firmly on the path to happiness Come what may! I look up to you greatly Your writing is so fiery That it can spark a raging inferno Full of righteous anger Against all the injustice perpetrated by the Indian State The lynchings that refuse to abate Poor and underprivileged children dying of hunger People being denied homes due to their caste While the government has the sheer nerve to boast About its so-called achievements Your poems are a testament To the famous saying "The pen is mightier than the sword" Very hard-hitting indeed, are your words!! I look up to you greatly Never dost thou fail to amaze Every story of yours is a maze Full of character arcs and plot twists Ensuring we get hooked very fast And by the time we finally put the book down Our minds would have been blown!! I look up to you greatly Never dost thou fail to raise your voice When it cometh to social justice Yet, somehow do you manage to maintain your poise In the face of never-ending malice Which is constantly thrown your way The way you keep your detractors at bay Is something we must all learn Thanks to people like you, have I gradually started to unlearn Certain things I once considered gospel truth Excel do you, at transforming the narrative When it cometh to our Hindu myths For your community, do you live Not yourself Hopefully, more books of yours may soon adorn my shelf!! I look up to you greatly Thou art a wonderful role model Bestsellers, are your novels You love your profession As much as Israel loves to lie You yourself are an institution And always do you aim for the sky So much have you done for our society With an absolutely brutal honesty That beggars belief Your writings provide some much-needed relief In these dark and difficult times Where even mere dissent is often treated as a crime!! I look up to you greatly For you, is impossible nothing And social justice, everything!! By the Grace of God May all your dreams come true And may you have nothing to rue Finally, must I say More power to you, Meena!!

You are an amazing writer And one hell of a character I love the way you think In your armour, are there no chinks Precisely do you know how to attract readers In your world, there ain't no order! Thou art the mistress of chaos To your writings, if people are averse Then it is their loss Because you are an absolute diamond And for you, never does learning end!! You are an amazing writer And a stellar storyteller You always call a ***** a ***** By rules, you do not abide When you are angry We all are angry Because we cannot stand injustice And you yourself are Lady Justice!! You are an amazing writer Sure, you do have your share of haters But that only serves to underscore the sheer impact you produce Truly, art thou a natural force!! Smashing the Brahminical patriarchy looks not impossible Only because your spirit is unbreakable!! You are an amazing writer And an even better reciter Your poetry is simply revolutionary And though your critics are often reactionary You simply let your keyboard do the talking Thus reducing them to effectively nothing!! You are an amazing writer And we are your debtors Because, you are one of those fearless critics Whom the government always tries to silence But you brave storm after storm In order to try and ensure justice for the downtrodden You are the oasis that represents hope In a desert full of despair You are an amazing writer Who doesn't give two hoots about her detractors You are the true face of intersectional feminism In a land full of Savarna feminism Which is as fake as Israeli democracy Thanks to you, gender equality is not a mere fantasy!! Most important of all, though Is your anti-caste activism In the never-ending battle against casteism You are one of the fiercest warriors May you eventually succeed in breaking all the barriers Which stand between you and annihilation of caste!! Jai Bhim!! Vaazhga Periyar!!

You are a brilliant poet and writer And a terrific activist and orator On the head, do you hit the nail Every time without fail! You speak what people do not want to hear Which makes me grin from ear to ear Never do you sugarcoat Nor do you showboat Supreme, is your clarity of thought A lot of battles, must you have undoubtedly fought And when it cometh to your imagination To the winds, do you throw caution The way you repeatedly attack our Brahminical patriarchy Leaves us all under a spell Because your writing is so fiery That even the Sun can't hold a candle to it!! Your English is flawless So brilliantly do you assess The problems in our society Incomparable, is your brutal honesty Not to mention, your Tamil is a work of art Very well, have you played your part In fighting caste and gender inequality To all of us, do you represent Hope Especially in these times of adversity Never do you sit down and mope When the going gets tough Rather, do you tell yourself "Enough is enough!" And bounce back with a bang Loud enough to silence your detractors Unquestionable, is your character!! To the literary world, are you an invaluable asset Because, there ain't nothing you can't achieve Above all, you make us believe That we can fight the system And most importantly, WIN!!

I live in those dreams, that are fairy tales, and yet, because of you, it's my real life. Thank you for both.

There's a thin line between loving yourself & putting yourself on a pedestal. Respect yourself without becoming your own idol. ~ Author Ven J Arnold ~SacredInkedBlood

Thin Line
We are the authors of our own stories. But we have yet to figure out how it’d all end.

NOVELTIES by Thomas Campion loose translation/interpretation by Michael R. Burch Booksellers laud authors for novel editions as pimps praise their ****** for exotic positions. This is my translation of a Latin epigram by the English poet Thomas Campion. In Campion’s era some English poets continued to write poems in Latin and/or Greek. For instance, John Milton and Andrew Marvell wrote poems in Latin, while Shakespeare was criticized by Ben Jonson, if I remember things correctly, for having “little” Greek and Latin. Not being “versed” in the senior languages was seen as a deficiency in literary circles back then. Shakespeare was called an “upstart crow” for daring to write “litter-chure” without a proper university degree. How could he properly quote the ancients if he couldn’t read them in their original languages? The Bard of Avon was doomed to failure and obscurity … or perhaps not, since the English language was finally in vogue in England (where for centuries English kings had been unable to read, write or even speak the mother tongue, preferring French, Latin and Greek). My title is a bit of a pun, because novels were new to the world when they first arrived, and were thus considered by the literary elites to be “novelties” not on par with more serious verse plays. Some of the more popular early novels were “subversive” (pardon the pun) explorations of ****** naughtiness, through characters like Tom Jones, Moll Flanders, et al. Campion probably didn’t have such campy (enough with the puns, already!) novels in mind when he wrote his epigram, since the more titillating (cease! desist!) ones had yet to arrive. But perhaps he would prove to be a “profit” (I’m udderly hopeless!). Thomas Campion "Novelties" translation
Dear authors and poets, With works that inspire and bring tears, Do you intend the interpretation? Do you mean what we think? Or do you simply write and let us make-up what we Want to see? What we need to hear? We are taught be scholars the deeper meanings, Metaphors, and life lessons. We give you so much notoriety and acclamation. Is it deserved? Maybe it is maybe it's not. We may never know. Sincerely, An aspiring writer

Dear Authors and poets: A letter
A million years at least would take To read them all Front to back and over again And yet If an author paid for every word It would bankrupt them Over and over again Who knows how many they've uttered in darkness? The mind and mindless penmanship
