next to me you were asleep
with our legs wrapped around each other
your hands in mine holding them tight
as if we were the last two pieces of a puzzle
destined to fit perfectly together
yet one of us had been missing for so long
even though it seemed for a moment
that we had finally found each other
under that blanket we made love all night
soon those blue eyes of yours would meet mine
this time looking at me different in a new light
and whatever we had all along would fade away
like the voice of Sade in the background
eventually the pale belgian sun would rise
and steal you away from my side one more time
leaving me with a fleeting kiss and half-hearted "au revoir"
just like it has always done for the past two years now

behold that lass with a perfect silky hair
her eyes were like fireflies filled with misty realms
with her eyes speak what lips could not express
her endless grief have been buried in those luminous eyes
they hide a heavy heart deeper than any ocean
so vast as the sky or a calm sea
no one could ever know what lies beneath
when she met someone new
her eyes revealed words she did not knew
their eyes met and it was like magic in the making
their eyes shoot the breeze
and could not help it but to be in a daze
their eyes met but their soul will never be one
her mind trembles when she realized their eyes met only to find the truth
the fact that their heart belongs to someone else
eyes never lie they say
perhaps, their eyes will sail in another time and place
where they will glide to the stars on wishes and wings of golden memories
they will move the night as the dreamers
whose patch are filled with poems written by their souls
but at the end of their endeavor they had their adieu
until then, they had a little time to spend together
they have no way with words
they simply take words
their eyes do the work to express their heart
their chest bleeds but that is for the better
this is their good bye, right before they depart:
"au revoir mon cheri
au revoir to our chance of love."

Reclining on a chair, thinking of you
The happy days when we shared a stew.
My mind crowded with your thoughts
Made me remember the dazed past.
Days we sat for hours at a stretch
Sound of silence, creeping toward the crest.
Friendship: a gesture, putting no pressure or demand
An affection with no label, warm and grand.
Our friendship I thought, will last forever,
BANG!! it came down, with a shiver.
Shattered and bruised, untended and raw
Months at a stretch, with no liniment at all.
You are set to leave, history wiped so clean
If the fate is kind, we would meet again.

A single drop of rain upon the ground.
Like lightning strike that struck rain soddened earth.
A monotonous voice rattles around,
It’s face lit in the depths of the stone hearth,
One light that will forever show me, you.
Path burdened with unforgiving sorrow.
To a life that waves a final adieu,
There’s an endless number of tomorrows.
But then tomorrow becomes yesterday
With the fading “Au Revoir” in the wind.
The distant trembles of sorrow that fray.
Closed eyes of the once forgiving and kind.
An undying love ceasing to exist,
As a leaf on a river set adrift.
