I grew up under the branches of a very special Willow Tree Her branches protected me from dangerous things That she could only see Her branches kept me warm on the coldest winter days When others' leaves went away, hers still stayed Years and years went by I saw her less and less And then one day, she caught a sickness That would take her to rest Her trunk started to decay She fought it off the best she could Until it devoured her body One terrible day She left a hole in the ground when they took her away My beautiful Willow Tree could not stay Her branches couldn’t hold me They couldn’t keep me warm They couldn’t protect me anymore The last thing I had to remember my Willow Tree by Was a copper leaf that made me cry It reminded me of all the pain But it also reminded me of the special memories we made She might not be here But she will always be My beautiful Willow Tree
