Lost amoung love's haze
There is a price I must pay
love left me astray

~Primus inter pares~
(first among equals)
<>
the risks
the aspirations
the trial and erroring of
outrageous under appreciation
the silence,
the unabashed frustration
of our inability to right express
the exact precision needed to redress the pile of self~unsatisfying drafts
that need the evermore honing, whittling
curettage of accumulated filing
repeated nip and tucking
T his!
makes us all
first amongst equals,
we,
who throw ourselves again and
again, at Henry's urging
"once more into the breach"
we foot soldiers who but toil alone in grande silence until we satisfy our innermost creativity
are all so alike
all of
^firsts^
among
equals
in this grande society of
poetry addiction!

Pondering the gnarled vineyards at twilight,
it is for their rare fruit that I long.
The vines have survived many a drought and blight,
rendering them sensitive but strong
The fruits of old love are tender and sweet,
having learned to endure sun and shade;
Gleaning fortitude from gales, snow and sleet,
their true value's been measured and weighed
Old love seeks the beauty that veils the heart --
The wrinkled face and the graying hair
matter not; Yet, what a sting they impart
to the lonely caught in Time's cruel snare
Observe the pearl fishers -- they're not concerned
with the oyster's shell, but with the prize
that's dwelling deep inside, for they have learned
precious gems lurk in cunning disguise
Satisfying are the fruits of old love ---
so patiently they wait to be claimed
by soft, wizened hands, gentle as a dove,
yet revealing passion, unashamed
Because of all the sorrows and the tears
and the many heartaches left untold,
love that has withstood the test of the years
is a love that's worth its weight in gold
How blessed are we who can see love's sweet truth
unfolding before our very eyes;
We don't need the exuberance of youth
to yield to love's call 'neath star-filled skies
Old love has had its feet held to the fire,
and it emerged, still able to stand;
It survived the bogs of life's muck and mire . . .
What more can be said? Old love is grand!

If even the lonely among you have someone,
Then where do I stand?

The hour of the wolf calls
Cool dark sharp but calm
No moonlight howl or cry
Head down and focused frown
Pawns are pushed into place
The risks we trust to take
With good faith in calculus
These gods are among us
Energetic plight flickers
Spattered anger flouts
Dilated rage with white teeth out
To think beyond aloud
Funny how the face of a clown
can quickly change it's mouth

Each one of us are suspect
The trick is how are we going to connect
For which we aim victory and do teamwork
But betrayed by the low ping of network
Choose room if it is public or private
Use map for the ship to navigate
Impostors sneaked up on a vent
Took a moment to **** the innocent
It's where we learn to pretend
Laugh 'til the end,
Learn for yourself to defend
Be wise for which your victory depend
Call emergency meetings to discuss
One of us will be eliminated
Five, Four, Three, Two, One SHHHHHHH!
you disconnected

Of the road that had been left in haste
I was glad that my soul stayed the course
As the winter and my speeches never would
I never had been frost-bit by cold stares
O', the heat of glares unnerved me weary
I was hardly visible amidst trying times
The climes brought the dreary snow and many crucibles
It was the fire that melted the flakes
I distinguished myself from fakes
I know all that quakes
In my soul that takes less
As it gives away to the lakes
Of warm water as summer finally comes

Power is gravity pulling you down
Till your feet meet reality cold and hard
Anger is nothing but a gleam of a crown
As you try and find your way in the dark
Just as speed can be blind without focus of mind
We are present, though it's not yet known what we'll do
But you'll hear the clout coming like a fire in the mountains
And you'll feel that same downward force once we are through

An attempt to tempt temptation we're facing
The entire nation is wasting
While the time clock is racing
Sitting idle I dwell
Don't know what to do
A bottomless well
filled with good intentions
That I forgot to mention
while men's sons
climb the walls
Fingers bleed
so I choose to run
Pain outweighed only by guilt
An attempt to hide so no one would see
Added my hand by not lending a hand
The inevitable entropy
Criticize the critter's size
This infiltration among us
A monstrous demon
indeed in need of expatriation
The daily battle uphill
An upheaval, this weasel
An endless war of soldiers who sold their souls
Signed their mark on the dotted line
Became a mere dot left in time
Sand in the glass we know will not last
Last train leaves the station
Can not stay
Have been shunned
Should have listened when told
On an endless list now too old
The souls that time has forgotten
A swirl in the whirlpool for getting into this mess
A choice we did not choose
Being lost made us lose
A loser with nothing to lose
Loose with our lips
Quick with the fists
A tunnel with no light
The endless darkness in sight
Filled with fear, we do not fright
For what is wrong feels so right
Take the plunge
I just might
Endlessly spinning in time
while getting so high
Spinning out of control
This way I live, this way I die

i am
a confusing person.
i may
love things
that i hate;
i may
hate things
that i love.
sometimes
i adore the sun setting
and i close my eyes
as the sun drapes itself
with dust and memories.
then
i despise the way
the sun rises
with false anticipation
for children chasing them,
desiring to touch
even a glint of gold
and sunlight.
but i try not to love
the way your crooked smile
makes everything look
endearing.
because
i am afraid
that i will soon learn
to hate it.

Yet I Am Ready
Watching the waves eat away the castles made of sand
Staring at the way wind is churning at infrastructure land
like a big bad wolf who found the fear and lean foundation of a brick house
I am ready for her hand
I am all ready
Traversing fields filled with fruitless wonders
burning tundras rolling thunders
A Man attempting to put out its grand made funeral pyre
with nothing but a Jack and Jill bucket filled with reverse osmosis electrolyte infused hydrogen oxygen expired prayers
I am Ready for no man land
I have a radio already
Listening to Nokia raven chirps and bubble bee gyrations.
Evergreens whispers as wild blooms break concrete and asphalt and building plans
giving smiles to homeless man and woman
dreamers flowering in the night lights that were supposed to replace stars
I am ready
for the woods to takeover the hoods
for bear feets to take over the streets
for napkins to become extinct
to write with my god-given red ink
so that my being will dye into stone and dirt
To leave my DNA on my mothers belly and hear her cry
As she covers my mouth closes her eyes tearful from radioactive winds
let her know that I loved her and hugged her every chance I could
I am ready to give up me for we have not given back enough
We have devoured the essence and forgotten how to seed and harvest
the nothing has become us
which is why Earths flesh is colored rust
like blood mixed with scratching dust
we have bruised the body
and wonder if we can blame something someone else
but US
Every time the finger points the object of our deflection disappears
Rearrange the letters she was trying to help us HEARt
Rearrange the letters EARth is trying to make us Heart
I'm trying to make us Ear
These MTHFCKRS are among US.
We have bred them with our love lust
still unaware that they a fungus
These MTHRFCKRS have become US
they save a life to **** it from us.
they manufacture fakes to stunt us
These MTHRFCKRS have become US
Ideas devoid of what we need to come up
She must go now and rip it from us
We must shed our blood just to fund us
Cause these MTHRFCKRS have out done US

There he stood
Far, far away
Far, far beyond
From her reach
Among the twinkling stars
Bright but calm
He was not a star
Among the millions
Only moon who amused her
With his different phases

Among all the beautiful stars and constellations,
I found you.
Among them you were the brightest,
The only one.
Among the whole universe,
I chose you.

the obvious tragedy
torment me torment me
light rain to torrent
puddle to sea
it lines up so
perfectly
these are just some
lines in place of those
I'd rather have led
up my nose
or is it lead?
oh well, who knows
there's sun draping
the flowers that grow
that is what should be
the focus now, those
flowers literally
let it resound
they reach pretty finger
into the ground
embrace the earth
let it resound
the goal is to rise far
above, the putrid petty
pushes and shoves
a pitying glance from
the woman you love
your pride, starved for
romance, worn like
a glove
it's reachable in some
context, though those
roads aren't
illuminated yet
but they lay still
tread-able and you
have able step
light your own way
illuminate yet
it's hard to convey
the meaning, of
this whole mess
feelings and things
I myself don't know
what good it brings
this whole mess
feelings and things

In the midst of all the:
Falling
Crashing
Crawling
Smashing
Willing
Trying
Killing and
Dying
We find ourselves staring into an endless expanse of space within and around our minds
Falling to keep in the boundaries of time
Crashing the walls that keep those in line
Crawling between this ever increasing length seems tragic
Smashing for all those who think thoughts without magic
Willing for the chance to win before losing
Trying before life begins to be bruising
Killing is not what is believed to be brutal
Because
Dying is the truth that hides behind real
Still
But in the midst of all the
Falling
Crashing
Crawling
Smashing
Willing
Trying
Killing and
Dying
We must learn to live within the truth among lying

Gold crown of Olympus, hair crown and
Skin gown. First we throw our bodies at
One another. Heaping piles of human soup.
Bold maneuvers, hands and mouths and
Boy meets girl lying down, on top, intertwined.
Skittish moves on a tryst. Wet fingers of freshly
Tendered infinite decibel pleasure screams.
Streamers above a long rooting movement.
Overture of Aphrodite. Sparkling, glitter woman,
Legs pressed tightly to the chest,
Loose appendages intertwined. Intersticed dactyls
In rapture, soothing. Bodies build to one heart's beat.
Two muses fused together. If I wasn't afraid I'd wake you up
I'd slip on my shoes and make a tropical fruit fondue.
Stage two:
Ice cream lover's delight. Opus to brown sugar.
To swimming again, a pursed lurking of lips
In the academy of the pastoral commonwealth.
We eat at our stations of the sublime. Today which was
A day of discord- you nursed me back to the land of the living.
Stage three:
***
Stage four.
***
Stage five:
As we earn our pageantry to take
Stride on this Earth, and string a
Great bow of eager success among all of us,
You, me, them. While I continue to
Gaze at you. If not dinner, perhaps a
Cup of tea instead.
