You are everywhere. In the waves on the beach and the fresh salt air. In my morning toast, just buttered lightly, paired with a mug of Pike Place Roast. In the starting chill of October that nips at my skin ever so slightly. In the living laughter of someone sober; They need nothing to keep them tightly— In my own wounded truth, turnt on me by beloved hands unable to bear, Like a loaded gun given through trust to see— Shot at the chest of the trusting that shared. Remembrance of your presence unthin, the flickering hope is now shown care. Serenity of a mind drowned in dread within— Before you, they were so unaware. Maybe bent steel, never shattered glassware. I see experience variedly disguises akin. If the bite of old hurt makes teeth go bared, I know it will subside again. As the rolling world renews the wear, through piercing strife, doubt and despair, I will remain at peace— You are there.
