#allies
I've already cried these tears, no need to cry them again
Wasted too many years behind pretend perfection
Faced my fears, even call a few of them friend
And no, they are not pretend
Attempted to flip enemies to allies, no more than a means to an end
But a good decision it was not, because the I I thought I was went missin'
Forced to change the base mission
Another unwanted end
A new forced new beginnin'
Ready or not, do we have to go again?
What are they odds the next one will be a win?

The sounds of your voices
work with me,
the resonance of your mirth,
your anger, your vexation,
your empathy, your soul,
is orchestral in our everyday scrum
to keep me humming along

To say that we’re both far from home
Might be a bit of a stretch,
Since simple roads and passable oceans fail
To describe the true distance between worlds
Ripped apart so that only faded myths
Whisper of how once they were one.
We are not quite
Sitting right across from each other
In libraries where books scream secrets
While we glance up with the silent truth of distrust.
We are far from where we should be,
Yet if either of us want to traverse past the stars
And into the worlds that exist in mathematician numbers
And in the dreams we have at night when the other is no longer watching,
We need to do more than simply wait for that moment
Where our eyes meet once in connection rather than separation.

I'm so anxious, darling I'm so
in love with you. I can't bear the fact
that the end is (indeed) near.
So I will be honest in here, in my words
I swear by your honey-voice and your tempting eyes. I can't see where the future will lead us. I can't tell you, but I am so
anxious darling.
I'm so in love with you.

Dylan’s roof covers your house supposedly,
But you can’t go through the front door,
you don’t even have a key.
You see, Dylan’s roof covers your head
ever so reluctantly
But Dylan won’t kick you out,
you were brought here to work for free.
Dylan doesn’t like you
or anyone with your complexion
But Dylan won’t admit it,
he’d rather ‘serve and protect’ his brethren.
By serve and protect I mean swerve and reject.
Any responsibility for a bullet in your chest.
You see, Dylan’s roof doesn’t just cover 52 states
It covers millions of your reflection
that share melanated traits.
The windows under Dylan’s roof give you a glimpse of your potential.
Freedom and happiness.
You trace the future with a stencil.
After some time,
Dylan’s roof will start to dissipate.
The rains of your liberation
will begin to precipitate.
The seeds that were planted
by the ones gone before us,
will start to germinate
in the fields that once tore us

to leave your allies
who helped you achieve
your often-boasted victories
unprotected
against their well-known
overpowering enemy
is abominable betrayal
a crime most foul!

eyes locked
my heart dies,
the idea of love falls apart,
my allies try to
advise,
to organize my thoughts

I DREAM OF A LIFE
THATS MORE FREE AND FUN LOVING
NO MORE MONEY
NO MORE WAR
MUCH MORE GIVING
MUCH LESS LAW
HAVE WE FORGOT THE REASONS FOR OUR EXISTENCE
NO MORE HATE
NO MORE RESISTANT
MUCH MORE LOVE
EMBRACE OUR BRILLIANCE
NOW IS OUR CHANCE TO LOOK EACH OTHER IN THE EYES
NO MORE DIVISION
NO MORE LIES
MUCH MORE UNITY
WE ARE ALL ALLIES

One night walking on the sidewalk
Head directed towards the phone, not the mood for talk
Bumped into a lamppost
Noticed it shined more light on my path than most
Said hello and moved on, at the moment I didn’t realize
The light could repel evil lies and equalise, keep me alive and provide key allies
Should have stayed in the light
Then battling the dark would have been a, somewhat fair fight.

When the heart is stilled,
and our eyes are blind.
When our limbs are lead,
and our hands are chained and numb.
Keep your eyes open,
Use the pain to stay alive.
Protect your Allies son,
protect them with your life.
Get them out of the dark,
and lead them into the light.
Protect your comrades son,
Protect them with your life.
* Even if only one of you can
leave this fiery Hell.*
If even only one of you survives
then a victory has been one!
For they cannot stop you child,
If together you stand and fight!
Fight for your rights my Child,
Fight to live your life!
Fight for what you believe in Son,
fight for what you know is right.
Defend your brothers and Sisters son,
protect what you hold most tight.
You know your lives are ending,
as you stand and fight.
But as you lay here dying,
You see him striding through the light.
He stands tall and strong now,
the Boy now a man,
Not a child in any's eyes,
Standing tall in the light.
With his Infantry behind him,
he blasted all enemies in sight.
When the others saw him they burst into tears,
For their arrival also washed away their fears.

I like to imagine myself as a shield
Casting itself over it’s allies in battle
Saving them from shrapnel and enemy attack
On the front there was color
It has long faded into a plain metallic sheen
The color was not faded in one short stroke of grief
But rather by years and years of wear and misuse
It is filled with scratches
Some from enemies, some from allies, some from myself
On the back there are words
Some that I say all the time
Words like “I’m fine” and “Don’t worry about me”
Others are phrases I wished I heard
“Proud of you, son” “Good job, son”
These words serve to protect the guise
To persuade those who are protected by the shield
To never glance at the battle-worn front
Sometimes the shield is close to breaking
Mostly from overuse
Sometimes it breaks itself
Chipping pieces off wondering why it doesn’t feel whole anymore
What was once a thick, sturdy shield
Has become a frail, flimsy barrier
Ready to break at the slightest hit
It refuses to go easily
As if it were gone who would protect those behind it
How could such an imperative device be so easily replaced
How could others forget its purpose
How could the shield forget its own worth

You may see me in the shadows,
Watching your every move..
You have become my prey...
Now its time to feed..
You soul is quite interesting,
How about we join sides..
You know? Allies?
do not be afraid of me..
I only will destroy your self-esteem...
