To be fair
I can't even say I hate it
for hours
a sneeze has been
patiently waiting
a slight tickle
high in my nose
my eyes squint
a breath sharpens—
almost
almost
and nothing
just for it to happen
all over again

i found out recently
why she sneezes
after stepping out
from the shadows
into bright sunlight
it is apparently
a genetic trait
something uncontrollable
simply confusion
between her optic
and trigeminal nerves
where the one responsible
for everything seen
inadvertently sets off
the other and
this one has
a tendency to react
to foreign bodies
and irritation
explosively

There once was a sneezer named Rose
Who'd sneeze to the tips of her toes:
She once sneezed so heinous
She puked out her ****
And blew out her brains through her nose.
