When I first arrived in this place,
A month seemed like a lifetime,
And a lifetime seemed long.
All too suddenly, the course is over.
My friends have gone home before me,
And the weather has changed.
On the eve of departure,
It’s raining in the city
Like it’s raining in my heart.
As I fall asleep for the last time here,
I’m glad I've made arrangements
To get home safe.
Dad’s coming to pick me up!
I’ve been keeping in touch with him,
And he says he’s proud.

What elation and gratitude
follows a treacherous hike
to peak and revel the summit
scraping away the atmosphere
to behold the blue diamond euphoria
an altitude that baptizes only the worthiest
of heads, within its moist triumphant clouds
Some though
don't make it up the trek
they lose footing and struggle
gaining no traction
sliding down
the steep sides of the ridge
For those.....
the summit is depth
and skies are not the limit
and they are not defined
by heights they climb
but simply, by the gravity
they continue to defy

Are you living like you're fine but the situation's wrong?
Were you living for the day but now just tag along?
You wait on destiny and fate but life just seems a list of dates?
I think the situation calls for a fresher set of traits.
If you're a winner or a wooer, or jack-the-lad cock-sure,
or a beauty or a beast or a being of grand allure,
then the situations good and you'll keep up in the race,
but if you're not, on you trot, you're not worthy of this space.
I say, the current state of affairs, it's not approved and it's not fair,
but there's hope some place out there.
The situation can be changed but sure as day you'll stay the same,
So change it all and take a gamble,
Make it you the world can't handle,
push right through and find a space,
nurse your dreams in a brighter place.
