A word... an array
what can and can't they do?
Carefully, thoughtfully feathered
whispers of ink

For the Poet... poetry
art on display
expressions of the expressionless
in silence, pretermitted meaning convey

A word...a score
music to the soul
boldly, willfully etched
deep into your heart

For the poet.... poetry
a vestige that echoes over time
a word, a stanza
Poetry
how beautiful is poetry to the poet?

Leaving messages on foggy bathroom mirrors. Leaving lipstick crescents on the rims of tea mugs. Leaving the front door unlocked. Leaving, a lot.
every time she leaves she leaves a trace and it takes my breath away

the scent of your lilac perfume
on my bedsheets
and the vestige of your footprints
in my room
are enough to
drive me
delirious.

the twinkle of your laughter
across the street
and your whispers of
past and broken promises
are all i hear.

it's okay if you won't keep
your promises anymore
but please let me see
a glimpse of you
before you sail to another world-
another place and time.

wherever you are,
just don't forget me.

please.

ves·tige /ˈvestij/ noun.

a trace of something that is disappearing or no longer exists.

there is still a vestige
of love for you
left in my heart.

there is still a vestige
of the words that you
whispered to me
at night;
etched in my skin.

there is still a vestige
of your kisses
lingering
on my lips.

there is still a vestige
of *you

in
me.
i really hope i used "vestige" in the correct context (haha...)
