You bathe in my radiance,
With your eyes closed,
Taking what you need from me,
to strengthen your bones.

You stick around,
Just long enough,
But now its time for you
To wander off.

I expect that you will soon return
To use me again,
So I wait patiently,
Here on spectrum end.

When you return
You will regret not wandering sooner,
This time too much of me
Might just destroy you.

I am
Ultraviolet
maggie W Jan 2018
I painted my nails ultraviolet, color of the year
Sitting at my desk

Thinking about you, I read some books
Mark went by and asked how was my New Year?

"I went to watch fireworks", which wasn't true
he said, "I don't think you'll come to my neighborhood"

Staring at the monitor, thinking about you.
It is only 20 degree, I shouldn't go out to get lunch.
But I could paint my nails ultraviolet.

Got off work early, I carry the basket that I use to put my lunchbox in.
You're still in salt lake city,so I went for a mani,
and paint my nails ultraviolet
Not a very bright was to start the new year, but it will get better.

We started confused
Blank, Pained and Unsure

We have our own excuse
To Live,  To Ask,  To Love

On that Bell Tower ledge we met; Same thoughts...
To Fall, To End, To Let go

I dragged you away
Showed you the real way
Helped you come back again
And Kept you from pain

We wandered all the Bright Places
The Mountains...
The Churches...
The River...
The Lake...

Even the Blue Hole where we date

As time passes by I healed you from sore
And my Feelings grew more
So as the pain, the ache
And the uncertainties we break

We both fell from with in
And you tried to keep me out of the pain
Yet It was as heavy as sin
That I can't bear to feel

You held on
But I let go
You did not know
That I ended so

I know It'll cause you Pain
And I may never be seen
But my heart, my soul and my memory of you
Will forever be and always be
with you.

You are brave, please believe...
This is inspired by the book 'All The Bright Places' by Jennifer Niven. I consider it as my all time favorite book. The story is painful, lovely and real. A-must-read book.

This poem is based on Finch's Point of View (Finch is the lead male character of the story)

Ultraviolet, you're so quiet.
Pretending that your thoughts aren't violent.

Ultraviolet, you can't hide it.
Screaming help, you can't keep silent.

Ultraviolet, you're colour blinded,
Black and white, your mind's decided.

Ultraviolet, please try to fight it.

I couldn't live without your light.
what an incredible spectrum you are

I'm running from darkness
She is avoiding the light
She is closing her blinds
I'm escaping the night
I can never fall asleep
She can never know
She's not broken like I am
If I give in I go
Sometimes the black lasts hours
Sometimes it lasts for days
She wishes she was asleep
To get over all the pain
She is ultraviolet
Keeping me awake
She is everything
The victim of every mistake I make
She always drives me crazy
But I need her all the same
She seems to really love me
But can't make the claim
I'll want her forever
Love her til my walls are blue
She is where my mind wanders
Her eyes are the best Indiana view.
