where shall one begin with an unknown task
as there's not a manual of instruction
to follow in the exact construction
yet one cannot be phased by its ask
ad-libbing may get knitted on the bask
so why allow any type of obstruction
it'll mean one is certain for destruction
on-ward till there's a near finished cask
Milton supplied the writing assignment
hence one took a huge risk attempting it
his format came without apt document
the sonnet improvised every bit
a plan not seen anywhere to complement
the novice didst garner abundant wit

Each man has its duty, everyone may envision
A person with a wish, a man in a mission
Though each set of us, has a standard and condition
In each a task handed to us will create a result and fruition

We can take all of what needs to be done and finish it all
Even though it’s a big feat, you may think of it as small
However, burnout will happen and falter like the rest
Whereas you could’ve took one and made it the best

Take a small one, it should be really easy
A simple task which you can think may be measly
But will you be happy with a small scope like that
Why not challenge yourself with a bigger cap?

So you see my friend, we do have options about our limitations
It’s either we got one to finish, or take on a mountain of duty
Although each one may lead us in a treasure or *****
Think of yourself before you make a final decision
Another spur of the moment poem for our project in Humanities :)

Awake! arise! you've been sleeping too long
and following the ways of all the throng.
Look around and see what you need to do
and begin to accomplish something new.
You may even have to finish those things
entrusted with you and for all life brings.
Don't brood too much now or linger over
what could have been but instead recover.
Press forward with a good diligent heart
leave sorrows behind, take an active part
in those things presently before you cast
lest it be said you weren't up to the task.
Be ever steady with your heart's resolve
and in life do things that help to evolve.

Written late in 2017.
A bit of a motivational wake up call to myself and others inspired by the thought of the  New Year in the forefront of my mind.

My ears are irritated by the ticks of the clock.
As the big hand struck twelve,
And the little hand rose to three.
My grey thoughts begun to lock.
Colorful Ideas are slowly shelved,
And I am accompanied by me.

Tasks are halfway done,
So are my half-closed baggy eyes.
I wonder why I took up the task,
Just for a coffee sprinkled in cinnamon.
It should not come to a surprise
That I do what you ask.

I stared blankly at the work,
Let it be writing, editing, or mixing.
each passing time I become more efficient.
like a robot connected to a network,
programed to tick without out stopping.
But my ears continue to listen.

I still hear the ticks,
And I'm slowly getting tired.
Tasks are still halfway done.
I should be done a quarter to six.
My body should be able to rest, if acquired.
Still, all of these are really fun.

My life is beginning
to feel like
a patchwork quilt
of deadlines
and tasks.
Even doing nothing
has started to seem
like something to do,
just another thing
to check off my
list,
with a certain amount
of time allotted for it,
and a clear time
to move on to
the next thing,
lest I fall behind.
Weeks,
days,
sometimes even
hours
are divided
and categorized
by what I should be
doing
in them.
I don't allow
any passion projects
too engrossing
or time-consuming
for fear of
losing
              myself
                              in
                                      it
and forgetting my responsibilities.
All I can think
when my heart
nudges me to
read a book
or
write a story
is that I have
no time,
no time,
no time
for such things,
and that I must be
conscientious before, and over, content.
Busyness is beginning to take over.
Perfection
As an Art
Rehearsed
To Perform
Everyday Tasks
with Ease

But ,
Behold,
Uncertainty
Is The Task
No Release

Precisely,
How does one perfect that !!
Met a friend this morning,
between my school runs ,
Both her sons live abroad,
Doing exceptionally well for themselves, she lives by herself,
A retired teacher,
lost her spouse few years back .
She is happy and content in her life , keeps herself busy with her interests, missed in a busy life earlier, that inspired me .

The word that we parted with was 'Uncertainty'

If I sleep, breathe, feed
One thing & one thing only
Is that called dedication
Or just a bad possessed need

Either way isn't it a sheer blessing
To serve a purpose, a deed
Finally you get a seat at the table
But the hunger is now just greed

Greed is pure, greed makes you win
Don't be fooled otherwise by the sheep
Frolicking away is the real true sin
Anyhow, galaxy will drown you deep

That's when you must hold onto the deed
Jaw deep into the gutter, now you see
Even when you spend your life in pure greed
It won't be enough until you learn to let it be

There’s an innocence,
          Like children playing in graveyards,
                    That we’ve lost.

                    and

There’s a wanderlust,
          Like a dandelion’s progeny,
                    That we’ve abandoned.

                    And

There’s a love,
          Like the echoes under eyelids,
                    That we never forget.

                    And

There’s a task,
Like sand on an ant’s back,
                    That we endure.

                    And

That task,
          Like the broken backs before,
                    Ends

                    And only when we do.
Saw some frolicking among flowers - three children laughing, an assumed mother crying, and no father to be seen.
