Snakes.
Some are poisonous,
but only when they bite you.
Only when you make them.
pfft what it's not like I'm slytherin or anything...
Hannah Marie Nov 2020
I find
I do not know
what to think

Despite thinking,
A contradiction I know,
That I know my own mind

I am a walking contradiction
I’m pretty but I’m not
I’m thin but I’m not
I’m happy but I’m not

I’m a filthy halfbreed
The in-between
Half Slytherin, half Hufflepuff
Wondering where it all went wrong

It didn’t go wrong, as such
But perhaps just awry

I’m wondering how
I found myself here

Nice boyfriend
Nice parents
Nice life
Boring, but nice

How did I find myself
Being bored all the time?

I’m thoroughly capable
But a perfectionist too
If I can’t do it first time
It goes on the pile
Of things I can’t do

I expect
One day
I’ll get over this phase
But it could just be
The way that I am

Nice, but boring
Not good at much
But not bad at much
average, standard, middling

I’m stuck in the middle
With no way
Up or down
we're back on this ******* babeyyy

You gasp in shock
In fear
The end is here
You caused this
Your eyes
Burning with guilt
Hands
Shaking with regret
Jaw
Locked with desperation
I had to
You whisper
But there is no one to hear your cries
Just the inky black sky
Ensnaring you in darkness
This is your doing
Little death boy

A serpent
Winding up your arm
Wrapping round your throat
It hisses in your ear
Of fear
And of misery
You’re frozen in place
It’s venom filling your mind
Rendering you useless
Weak
Your lips tremble
Silver eyes hidden
Behind milky hair
why are you hiding?
Little death boy

Is this who I have to be?
Is this all that there is for me?
Just destruction
Just despair
You
Are the bringer
Death paints itself into
Your very being
Into your soul
The serpent slithers it’s way
Into your heart
It’s hold
All powerful
The fear of failure
Taints the back of your throat
Rising like bile
You’re scared of death
You’re scared of survival
There is no place for you
Little death boy

Hold your head high
Do not let them know
You’re fragile
You’re terrified
You’re not the sharp
Cutting man
They believe you to be
You’re nothing
Just a wisp of smoke
Easily ripped apart
By a gentle breeze
The snake winds tighter
There’s no escape for you
No redemption
No saviour
You shall rot
And this,
This is your destiny
Living your whole life
Weary and pale
Waiting for the world
To chew you up
And spit you out
Battered and broken
Blank and listless
Dark and lonesome
This is who you
Were born to be
Bringer of death
Whether you even wanted to be
Does not matter
Never the hero
Never the kind
Never the feeling
Little death boy
A snake doesn't just throw shade
We thrive in the shadows
Stalking our prey,
Think you've got what it takes
We'll swallow you whole.

I dare the kittens birdys & roadkill
To make a mistake
You really think your house spits
poison Better than a snake?

Our Partsel tongue is "forked for her pleasure"
Each time we seal a letter
witches get wetter

other houses cringe at our fame
cold blooded killers

don't buy it? Just wait.
Our Snakeoil salesman
Will Have you beggin' for change

You dare to stand against a python?
You don't even know code

I can't pull punches
if I don't have hands, Bro.

Like medusas hair dresser
Expect-to petrify
Better call Cobra
Get insurance for your life.
What's the matter
Gonna cry?
Because We can't.
Ask science.

I dare you to challenge
My Reptilian brethren

We're Unhinging our jaw
getting fed like it's league of legends.

Like Severus and Lily,
We came to each other by chance.
I transfigured myself into your life
Already on a pedestal,
Our words chaining ourselves
To each other
Until death.

Years have passed
Without so much as a flicker between us
But here you stand
Today
With the words of our pasts
Strung together and hanging like frayed ropes from your wrists.

In my dreams you come to me
With your hand outstretched,
A snake burrowed into the cuff
Of your long sleeved,
Blue-collar work shirt.
I do not hesitate to take it.
I am bitten.

I wake up in a cold sweat,
The snake of men past
Now burrowed next to me
In the king sized bed.
I am not afraid
But I do not trust.

You can't be in Hufflepuffs,
But there's a great perhaps,
I am in Ravenclaw,
Not super genius tho'

Join th' house of Gryffindors,
If you're good in battles,
Enter Slytherins' doors,
In terms of political honor/titles.
Inspired by Harry Potter.
Ravenclaw:
The intelligent ones
For those who may be missing a few screws
Or are like no one else you have ever met

Hufflepuff:
The amicable ones
For those who aren't afraid to work hard
Or would give $100 to the homeless

Slytherin:
The cunning ones
For those who will do anything to achieve their goals
Or are willing to do anything to protect what is theirs

Gryffindor:
The brave ones
For those who will never give up
Or laugh in the face of terror

Where shall you go?
I'm a Gryffindor. What are you?

Rest in peace to all the brave gryffindors
The courageous ones with hearts that soar
Rest in peace to all the smart ravenclaws
You left this generation in intelligent awe
Rest in peace to all the clever slytherin
without you, many of us wouldn't grin
Rest in peace to all the kind hufflepuff
I know our journey was tough

Avada kedavra to the other sort
Crucio on voldermort
imperious on the non deluxe
Destroy all of the horcrux

Shortlived were the cohorts
That tried to defeat hogwarts

we thank you
The death of fictional characters will always outweigh reality.
