A lot of you
Would agree
That this world
Would be a
Better place
Without me

I don't disagree
In fact, I've been
Wanting to leave
It behind
For as long
As I can remember

So this is
The part where
I'll never recover,
The part where
Life takes me down,
And the scene
That scars
Forever
Tonight, let me think of all the worst decisions I’ve made,
of all the wrong people I chose to love,
of all the junk I ate every day,
of all the sleep I lost,
my life was at a bottom cost
yet, I lie here, sleepless, daydreaming,
and *******
oh so far away,
are my heart and soul,
that they’ll never love again.

rue
you know our observatory minds
hide behind accusatory eyes
reading from statutory lines

stealing glances, stealing lies
borrowed for another time
projecting further our own demise

you know we live on borrowed time
little can ease our troubled minds
it’s hard to know where a feeling lies

in the attic or in vacant lines
i can’t look you in the eyes
it brings me pain: my own demise

but it seems you know the truth
that we’ve wandered in our youth
that these days we’ll come to rue

I absolutely love being lied to.
There's nothing more I can do.
Sometimes I feel like I always knew,
Yet a fool I am for believing you.
Nothing you say is true.
Now the day I met you too,
Is yet another day I rue.
Lies of a friend or enemy

He caused me to fall
He changed my views
He taught me a lesson or two
He showed me what's right isn't always true
And the sky isn't always blue
And then he left me here to rue
He left me here to rue the days
That I spent with him falling in love in different ways
And as I changed I hoped it was just a phase
But now he's gone and I remain the same
And all this destruction around me is for me to blame
It was all foreseen so I have no shame
That I lost at playing his lovely game

I sit in the sofa, sipping warm tea,
As the world around me shatters slowly .

I read a Cinderella story, a happily ever after;
All the while ignoring the sound of breaking hearts .

It gets unbearable, the cries for help;
So I close my book and turn to the real world:

The one where people violate for pleasure,
The one where people are devoted to materialism .

I see people of different cultures, races, genders and beliefs
All under the roof of destruction;
All bonded by one emotion: Grief.

There’s a toddler, crying;
Two figures lie next to him, lifeless.

I stand up from the sofa,
Tears forming in my eyes .

But I cannot move, I am being held back
By the rope of self-interest .
I'm still fairly new. Go easy on me :)

We all look up to the same sun.
To the same moon we confide.
We all look at them the same...
Hoping for the light of day...
Wishing for peace at night.

Unfortunately...
It seems that they are not just.
For their light is selective.
It is not available to those
heavily shrouded in the dark,
drenched in tears.
It seemingly favour those
who'd shamelessly croon for their boon.
Miscreants who shirk
their responsibilities and fears.

I beg you...
Guardian of day and sentinel in twilight.
May your arms be kind and fastidious.
May your reach be deliberate,
purposeful and extensive.
Find those who cry but without voice.
Cradle those who've made decisions
without the luxury of choice.
Shed some love so they could see
past their laboured breaths in mud.
Raise them to their feet
so that they might
have a fighting chance to live.

She stood, she smiled, I melted,

Then suddenly she left,

My heart could barely beat again,

My life, my love, bereft
