Dizzy and uncontrolled, I open my eyes to see the smoke crowding the air.
For, my body has just become a safe haven for your hands.
Temptation has won tonight.
Moonlight is dancing upon our bare bodies and I am immersed in pure satisfaction.
Our lips have synced with the circadian rhythm we possess and the fire has started to erupt.
As the flames get more and more intense, so does the love we pretend to have for each other.
It continues to grow until we convince ourselves it’s real.
The bedsheets serve as our common ground for our broken hearts to rest on.
As we are climbing and pretending; pretending and climbing,
The fire is getting hotter, the love is getting cloudier, and our bodies are getting heavier against on another’s.
Faint whispers of phrases we dare not say otherwise fill the room.
Finally, the fire is extinguished and we are left to lay with nothing but reality.
Clutching each other for protection from yet another fire, we doze off hoping to wake up in love with each other.

Courageous.
I go through stages.
I think about all I could do.
I am Courageous.

Afraid.
I contemplate.
I think about all that could go wrong.
I am afraid.

Brave.
I will do all that I crave.
I believe in myself.
I feel brave.

Fear.
It creeps up, whilst fulfilments of my dreams are near.
The possible becomes impossible.
I feel fear.

Fear, when brave,
Then feeling afraid,
All the stages, the rages - The angst of changes.
When I feel Courageous.
The Angst of changes, the emotions that stop us from moving forward with ourselves, our dreams, or from our fears.

Change is changing - the changes that we made.
No time for abiding by Human Rights,
When it means someone isn't getting paid.
Very short poem based on the deviousness of the hierarchy in Leadership and Governments.

You can fall in love
with the way
someone pours milk
into their cereal,
listening to the things they speak about
when they sleep talk
at three in the morning,
and by watching them untangle
earphones, which somehow
seems to be their biggest challenge
of the day.

You can fall in love
examining the face they make
when they try to hold back laughter,
if they put their head or their arms
through a sweater first,
and the way they shiver
when it is 23 degrees outside
and they are only wearing
a leather jacket
while drowning in a
thick red scarf.

You can fall in love.
You can fall in love.
You can fall in love.

And you will fall in love
with all of that.

Even though
you are the one
who left me
stranded and
short of breath,
I still wish
you were here to
hold my hands
while I am going through
this sea of troubles
I am drowning in.

I wish you
were here to
teach me
how to swim.
