The decision came too late and the opportunity went away.
Mane Omsy Apr 2018
I shot down opportunities
Then stared at the wall
Watching them painting
Differences from their hearts
Building new stairs upward
While I managed my downfall

The lights weren't bright
Then I coughed on the dust
Pushing my vitals to decay
I spoiled my life and now I pray
God please help this pathetic
To raise both hands in joy
To raise my head in pride

Idly wandering the grounds of reality,
I look as the leaves changes the colour at the tips,
An understanding comes with astounding clarity,
The change is near, the change is here,
My life supposedly moved forward,
While I was turning the page to look at yesterday,
It's due my time I should look at it in the eye,
The time of opportunities are here,
And here I am, the moth seeking perseverance,
Surely the weather has changed for the better,
The leaves seem dull but the change is beautiful,
The ground is laden with yellow leaves,
The ground is shining like gold,
It would surely mean a better path for a better tomorrow.
A story of a wanderer.

Verbalizing out her interests
attracted opportunities.

She planned to play with every insecurity,
learning, growing and blooming
with every opening.

She just had to take a chance
for the possibility.
Event hough she was dubious and stuttering.

But soon there would be rhythm and fluency
and there she would find unity in
a community.

a face in the dark
forever staring at lost

i fell in love with those nights we spent
chasing the sunset in your old silver jeep
with the windows rolled down, our favorite songs
playing on the radio and the smell of
opportunity in the fresh evening air

it’s moments like these that remind me
how lucky i am to be alive.

      -   and with you.

Who’s There …by Jessie 6/06

I hear a knock, knock, knocking at my door
But I don’t get up to look
I’m not too busy
I’m board in fact
I think it was the effort that it took
Complacent in my contemplation, of why the waters wet
Is what kept my **** tightly sealed to the chair where I now sit
There’s that knock, knock, knocking once again
Will you please just go away!!
I’m quite content doing nothing and here is where I’ll stay
No sooner than I yell these words
The knocking started up
Frustrated to the point of mad
I got off my lazy ****
Made a b-line to the door; anger on my face
Opened it up, looking out, a note the only trace
I opened the note, it read like this…
Hi, I knocked three times, no one answered
It was you I came to see…
No big deal, it was only me…OPPORTUNITY!

We were caught
In a torrential downpour
Running for cover
I bolted for the door
When you finally appeared
I turned to my left
To see you standing there
Clothes drenched
Hand running through
Your short blond hair
Water rolling down your neck
And all I wanted
Was to kiss
The Cheshire grin
Spread mile wide
Right off your lips.
Missed opportunity
I woke up
Eye to eye
Face to face
With a stranger.
She was a hard reminder of my past
A promise of my future
As she greeted me with a kiss
She whispered her name.
“Today.”

I gazed through the window
of missed opportunity,
considering the colour
of the grass,
remaining undecided
-  as ever.
But determined all the same.
Sometimes you need to just climb through that window.
