I probably wrote this a year ago
To 2017, your predecessor
I write this to you again with the faith
That you would be kinder, wise and nicer
By sending me help when I need it most
By teaching me more than I never knew
As I learn and relearn by stumbling and falling-
When 2019 begins, I hope I'll be thanking you.

Emptying old boxes
Packing well wishes
Tying new shoelaces
Charging drained devices
Keeping dozen promises
Settling past businesses
Equipping couple punches
Looking more fearless
Winning upcoming matches.

fires are exploding,
up in the sky,
coloring the dark,
filling in the void

though its beauty,
one thing i do know
no one could ever
fill in the hole in my heart

never are you here
never will you here
and i will always try
to conceal my feelings

A new book to fill
A new page to write
A new pen to empty
Oh, how exciting!
A story not happy
A tale not bright
but a jargon that will
drown you ill

I loved you
And I love you still
I will not beg you
But I will wait for you
To see if you live up to your promises
Yes, the ones you've been making
None fulfilling
I gave you multiple chances
Yet you demand more
Am out  of your league but my silence will break,
Once you prove your promises true
I do confess, I loved you and I still do
But I want those words to be real

What is lost and what is found,
In the ending year around?

Tried hard and could drop a pound,
But the efforts gave a health sound.

Lost a few so called friends,
In this way karmic debt ends...

Lost my way towards depression,
And headed for an old passion.

Good or bad, are the divine grace,
Got the strength to accept what i face.

Made some new awesome friends,
This is how the life now trends.

Gained enormous emotional strength,
And in the poetry, the desired depth.

Thankful to God for all the lessons!
Grateful for the countless blessings!

To accept the life as it comes,
No more new year resolutions!

Through all the tears and the smiles,
You were always there for me.
I let you in, and You helped me bloom into a stunning flower.
Joyful in everything and ready to keep growing.
I learned the value of patience, friendship, courage, and self-love.
Through it all, You guided me through.
All the scary, new adventures; I wasn't truly scared for I had You by my side.
Lord, take my heart and shape it to look like yours more and more this coming year as well.
Let me be kind and hopeful in all I do.
Let me be more like You.
