I love her,
I love her like the sea returns to the shore and I love her because her breath on my skin feels like a heart beat on the outside of my body.
I love her because her smile gives the sun competition for lighting up the room.
I love her because her voice soothes me like liquid gold entering my ears.
I love her because she buys me flowers which bring me sunshine everytime I look at them.
I love her.
I love her because her red hair entwined in me is the perfect way to wake up.
I love her like the way that my heart races when my eyes lock on hers.
I love her like seeing things that remind me of her when I'm shopping and then crying because of it.
I love her when we connect on a song and it becomes a part of our story.
I love her because we fit together well like our bodies were meant to feel and touch the way they do.
I love her because she dries my tears and holds me when I am upset, making me feel safe and at peace.
I love her like we are the perfect equation, like 1+1=2 and me plus you=us.
I love her.

It was not love at first sight. When you walked into the room the rest of the world did not slow down. There was no movie magic moment where our eyes met and I knew that you were the only girl I was ever going to fall in love with. Instead you were longing at first glance, yearning for a love that I never could have imagined before. I couldn’t picture our wedding or growing old together but I could vividly see the two of us together. Cuddled under blankets reading on a Sunday night. Decorating our apartment for Halloween. I could see Indian takeout in bubble baths with three cats curled up beside the sink. You were not love at first sight but you were better, you were real. You made love believable. I never had faith in finding a fairytale romance but in you I found forever. A reality of two souls bound together by a force neither of them can explain. You may not have been my love at first sight but you’re my love in every glance since. It’s heartbreaking that I can only look at the world through rose coloured glasses while you live in a world so far from make believe.

My love,
You are the sun moon stars,
Familiar like trees behind my home that I’ve known since I was maybe 2 foot tall,
Giving like water in a river that spreads life throughout the forest,
In you I see nature’s greatest works,
In you I understand the belief in divinity,
I have devoted myself to you,
Devoted my body to you,
I understand what I saw in the holy book again,
Know what it’s like to feel wholly compelled towards one being,
What it’s like to feel wholly committed to one singular celestial body,
My line of orbit surrounding you,
I plant my heart in the soil of your body,
Entrust it’s growth to you my love’s convent,
I’ve been thinking about comets my love,
I’ve been thinking about planets colliding,
Connections that cannot be denied,
Birth of supernovas,
Birth of Aphrodite in the seashell womb,
How roses unfurl slowly as they grow into their delicate bodies,
How your love feels,
Delectable,
Rich,
Transcending any other pleasure,
My love is,
Larger than Jupiter,
Sweeter than honey,
Wider than the body between us,
I know it is fatuous, cliché, over-sweet,
But I only wish to be wrapped up
In your soft edges,
Like a bee,
Enriched by golden nectar,
From the most beautiful rose.
