A dozen whitened lilies,
Choked in renaissance jewels,

Each cut gripping the stalks
and tugging the leather lips.

They stain like daffodils.

And though grand,
Their speckled folds ooze death itself,
Like a beggar with heightened pride.

The string of scarlet tenses
and the stalks smothered,
each head refused nourishment,

They wither.

hey moon,
you look like my girl.

but you fell, even when a soft not-so-country singer begged,
begged you to stay in the sky.

the only falling i’ll ever do,
it’s for you.

i fell for you,
as fast as a stone,
a jewel thrown into the sea.

glittering along those most beautiful things in the world.

i fell for you,
like rain from the north.

relaxed, slow,
then all at once.

northern downpour sends love,
i’d sing sardonically.

but with love?
based on northern downpour (panic! at the disco)

Freedom is a heady feeling.
I didn’t know how much I needed to feel.
Until all those emotions had been wrung out,
Except for this bright little jewel.
I'm honestly glad to be out of the situation I was in, it wasn't healthy for anyone.

"Jewel"

Watched it all through the lenses

of a boy without defenses.

That’s when the world was ugly,

and I hadn’t developed senses.

Crippled imagination,

built up wisdom with cunctation,

my peers all mocking smugly.

Assent, their single fixation.

I survived adolescence.

Thoughts, a cultural excrescence.

Could everything be broken?

Just a jest of convalescence.

I knew I’d end up finding

how to loosen up the binding.

And when the words were spoken,

swift, the future went unwinding.

“I do.” She said. And I too.

We wed and were reborn anew.

But where would we set our sights

but a happiness overdue?

The life we’d made extended,

though after some life had ended.

She swims through days, sleeps through nights.

Loved as I’d always intended.

A mystery, pain, torment.

And virtue, we misrepresent.

Fire is hot, and ice is cold.

And naught I can do to prevent.

But love is warm. Courage, cool.

So allow these to be your fuel.

I’ll teach her then, to be bold,

shine in the sun like a jewel.

Hidden Art…by Jessie 04/2011
A famous piece and work of art
Was hung and faced a wall
Hidden in a room so dark
Never seen at all
Although the strokes were bold
The colors intensely bright
The art was sold
Forever more kept out of sight
What a shame this piece of art
Once hung for all to see
A jewel amongst the other art
Interpretation free
The art inspired those who looked
Warmed their hearts inside
Canceled reservations booked
Empty space…all cried
Where is the art that occupied this space?
The wall sits white and stark
A hook now hung the only trace
Art… hiding in the dark

You think you're right?
Talk about putting up a fight!
How can that be true,
When the only ones that believes is you.

You're wrong, forever and ever.
I don't even need to try to be clever.
Why do you fight back, you've already lost.
Just stop now, while still low is the cost!

What did you just say? No really, I missed it.
I'm sorry I acted like such a twit.
Dinner tonight? Oh you're busy.
That's alright. Man I'm dizzy.

Did she really say that to me?
Never has she been so busy like a bee.
Maybe she's avoiding contact
No, it's probably just an act.

She'll come back to me tomorrow
Free from tears of sorrow.
I hope that's how this ends
And not-- nevermind, my thoughts may not bend.

The next morning she had not returned.
My love, my love, to thee I yearn.
Tears bleed from my eyes,
The gods pick at me, like flies.

Heat fills my face, my breaths stagger.
I love you, please don't be gone.
Please, I can't live without you.
I- I- can't go on. Please come back my love.

Tears on my clothing was the least of my problems.
My life used to be stable, held by columns.
Your absence has weakened them.
What's left is nothing without my gem.

I'm ruined, done with.
With what I thought was a myth.
It's true, don't ever forget it.
My love has been lost, a cost because of wit.
This is a follow up poem for "jewel" hope you enjoyed.
love's jewel glimmers*
within the
heart
a gem so beautiful
of romantic
art

emotions deeply tying
together
peerless the feel shared
by its tether

admiration
devotion
and sheer joy
love's sparkle
shall always
employ

two souls merging
for a life-time
ever to hear
affection's chime

love's jewel glimmers
within the
heart
a gem so beautiful
of romantic

...so he said
You are the jewel in the crown
Skin so smooth, almond like brown
Teeth white as the winter snow
To you my princess, I kneel to bow

...and she replied**
If I am the jewel in the crown
I belong to a King not you clown
If my skin is smooth and brown
Why do you wag your tail around?
If my teeth is white like snow
So what! Why can't you understand my 'No'
Calling me a princess and bowing is fine
But if you try crossing your flirting line
My slap will turn your face red to shine!
Don't bother me, spoilt creatures,
Else you'll be counting your infinite stitches!
Move away, I am not here for roadside speeches
Else you'll be pushed in the ***** pool of leeches...BEHIND YOU!
