Do not rewrite the past.

what time has carved

written in fresh tears
and the sweat
of becoming
a future still unfolding.

Those who choose to live
survive by daring themselves.
New sorrows, new triumphs…
old loves, and a self
that remains sincere
in a life in becoming.
And in the end,
what is His
shall also be ours,
as one.

Hope lies within reach
of those who, alone,
cross their own gates
on the highest mountains —
accessible only within.

Our journey,
a field to be cleared
with bare hands.
Calluses hold stories,
and weeds left uncut
grow wild,
until they cover the soul.

We are rescued
with every stumble.
And upon reaching the summit,
our sorrows
dissolve into the clouds.
Beneath the sunlight,
we reveal ourselves, at last,
for the very first time.

Our dream,
an eternal spring.
And on awakening, a glimpse
of days ever gray
and lies of a sun
that never shows itself.

The nightmare of living,
corroded by days
that are not ours.

A being without essence—
like plastic flowers
in a golden vase,
handmade.

Insipid victories:
false perfumes
that barely linger,
their scent soon sours.

Be an anonymous artist,
shaping the life of dreams.
And may your art
suffice in itself,
so you never bow
against your truest self.

May your will dispel
the dark clouds,
and may your days
become, at last,
always spring.

Time wasted or time well spent
What laughable concepts
The only valuable metric is time enjoyed
So love fiercely and deeply
Bring joy and warmth with every step
Look not to compare but to uplift
Bear the light of empathy and compassion
For this world is a struggle enough to explore alone
Let your spirit fly free and let hope inspire
Create and ignite the passion of others
Let no hate latch its claws upon the brightness
And let anger and resentment wash away with the tides
No easy tasks, but the struggle and satisfaction
Are eminently worth it
Let not failure bar your way
It is but a stepping stone on the path of improving
Acknowledge mistakes but take accountability for them
Share what can be spared and let not pride bar reaching for or accepting help.
Break and destroy injustice and inequity
Suffer not tyrants and bring them low
Join hands with those who would do these things
Embrace differences and try new things
Explore and discover, breathe and relax

Consider this:
at its core, a ghost is typically described as little more than a restless spirit.
Given this description, it's not too much
of a stretch of the imagination
to suggest that you don't have to die
to be a ghost.
After all, things change every day.
It would be concerning if you didn't feel lost or anxious at some point. The question then becomes "what do you do if you feel this way?" The answer: remember who you are and all it took to get you to where you are today.
