We all have something
to hide

Accept it

Feel it out

Learn how to break
the disguise

Laugh at it
make it feel warm

Sit and watch how others deal
with their problems

Focus

Do they lie?
and if bad at hiding it
make them laugh

Try to make them feel warm

It’s so easy to get
cold and locked up

We don’t need anymore soulless meat
walking around on this cold
and frigid world

Warm up

Break out of the disguise

Hold on to something
that matters and run with it

Try and find
your heat wave
to happiness

I remember writing this after realizing I had to do something with my depression and friend group
Fearless Jun 2019
I dished up plates as he walked by
greasy stringy dyed red streaks
guitars hanging on all sides
the smells of unwashed body reeks
tattooed fingers and a lip ring
soft smooth tenor from his soul
man can that pirate guy sing
but his street life takes it's toll
never smiles, furtive eyes
scared of those that steal for drugs
this pirate garb is his disguise
but offers homeless friends his hugs
he saunters off to write some songs
this strange man caught my writer's eye
making money to right some wrongs
I was compelled to write about this guy
the life of the homeless is a mystery
the tales they could tell us, wild
about their sordid history
I'm sure that it would not be mild
and now I pray that they can sleep
Jesus loves these poor souls too
and for their sins, He did weep
they're the same to Him as me and you

No one ever asked her if she was okay.
She was the one they could go for when they needed help.
No one ever thought about her problems..
How would they know she hid them so well...

She always had a smile, and made everyone laugh. She was the sun, the epitome of silly and kind.
But as cliché as it was she was also the one who hurt the most.

The emotions bottled up, the issues she heard from everyone else almost felt like hers. The weight of being everyone's hero she barely had time to deal with her own..
Put them away she said, your friends need you. But on this day it was too much. Everything she'd repressed came to light she was miserable she was completely exhausted.
Energy lost.
Hope gone.
The will to help was non existent.

They had taken all her energy and left an empty carcass that once was a smiling and actually happy girl. And who was there to be her hero?

No one. Not a soul. She was left all alone in the darkness in the shadows of her friends and family. Because without her they were nothing.
