I adore your wrinkles
more than your salt trails.
I want to see your smile,
they are the bandage to soul.
Spread your blessing through
your joy.
smile often, life is too small for the frowns

happy thoughts I say,
             happy thoughts,
but here i am, writing from my dark place, the only places i ever seem to write from.

why is it so much easy to feel the darkness but never easy to see the light?

There's a light in your back pocket
that you've overlooked for quite some time.

Grab it and light the pathway to
your peace amidst all the noise.

*p.s.

He is the peace in your back pocket.

To the person having anxiety or just to anyone who needs peace, this is for you!

I pop off my scalp like the lid of a cookie jar.
It's the secret place where I keep all my dreams.
Little ***** of sunshine, all rubbing together like a bundle of kittens
I reach inside with my thumb and forefinger and pluck one out.
It's warm and tingly.
But there's no time to waste! I put it in a bottle to keep it safe.
And I put the bottle on the shelf with all of the other bottles.
Happy thoughts, happy thoughts, happy thoughts in bottles, all in a row.

My collection makes me lots of friends.
Each bottle a starlight to make amends.
Sometimes my friend feels a certain way.
Down comes a bottle to save the day.

Night after night, more dreams.
Friend after friend, more bottles.
Deeper and deeper my fingers go.
Like exploring a dark cave, discovering the secrets hiding in the nooks and crannies.
Digging and digging.
Scraping and scraping.

I blow dust off my bottle caps.
It doesn't feel like time elapsed.
My empty shelf could use some more.
My friends look through my locked front door.

Finally, all done. I open up, and in come my friends.
In they come, in such a hurry. Do they want my bottles that much?
I frantically pull them from the shelf, one after the other.
Holding them out to each and every friend.
Each and every bottle.
But every time I let one go, it shatters against the tile between my feet.
Happy thoughts, happy thoughts, happy thoughts in shards, all over the floor.

They were supposed to be for my friends, my friends who aren't smiling.
They're all shouting, pleading. Something.
But all I hear is echo, echo, echo, echo, echo
Inside my head.

our time together today
makes me want
to write pretty poems
and sweet nothings,
doodle initials inside hearts
all over classwork
and notebook covers,
but I can't focus
cannot concentrate enough,
For every time you laughed today
every time you made me smile
every time I caught you staring
every. single. time
you touched me
runs and replays
through my mind
and blocks out
my concentration on anything else
but you,
but us...

and suddenly I didn't have to make up scenarios in my head, because my memories of today's reality were so much better... (poem written 2.11.17)

She walks through proud.
Her smile screams it loud.
She knows shes worth it.
Her past was the painful ****.
Nobody can knock her down.
But the unwanted frowns.
Her heart is the biggest!
Believe it or not her smile is the thickest.
She is so beautiful and happy.
Her actions are alittle slappy!
Her soul was just above.
She was called love.
Just a happy poem for though's tht think they cant find love its all around you.

we never fully recover.
we never get up from our knees
we never know what kind of power
lies beneath our stumbling feet.
we've had our ups and lows
were way up high and saw the hell below
i d like to see you fall down from your throne
id like to see you cry and your heart eaten by the blackest crow.
