I want to sing love songs to you
And recite poetry all I can
But I must not and I won’t
Because you are a Republican.
I want to sit at the shore;
Watch the gulls and pelicans
But that isn’t going to happen
Because you are a Republican.

We could go out to a bar
And sing old favorite songs.
We could sing and dance
Our friends could sing along.
But that won’t happen for us
Because hope for it all I can
The bottom line to all of this
Is you are still a Republican.

If they took a twisted family tree
And put it into a cheaply built can
Then added some bile and lies
You’d have canned Republican.
You could open it and pour it
Away from good, decent Americans
Because we’ve had it hard enough.
We don’t need more Republicans.

There’s a brand of human mutant
Arises when times are better than
The starvation and degradation
When the nation went Republican.
These mutants make war with poor
And unemployed and dependent man;
Blame everyone else but themselves
Mutants mentioned here are Republicans.

I want to sing love songs
And recite poetry all I can
But I must not and I won’t
Because you are a Republican.
I want to sit at the shore;
Watch the gulls and pelicans
But that isn’t going to happen
Because you are a Republican.

I once knew a man,
his name was Grant.
Grant had everything,
it was all in the palm of his hand,
until he threw it all away.
It wasn't for nothing,
it was for the only fatherly figure in his life,
it was for a girl,
and it was for what he thought was the best.
Once the girl found the truth,
she hated him.
The truth always hurts the most,
which lead her to wonder:
Grant, who are you, really?
based off of something
Hide the scars,
don't let them see.
They'll call you a ****,
just as they please.

You drink Starbucks,
you take selfies.
You're a White Girl,
you see.

You're hair is red
with your Irish genes.
You are a ginger
with no soul in thee.

Your skin is colored,
your hair so dark.
You are a criminal,
that's how they see.
I really hate some of the stereotypes out there, honestly.

Who was once my partner-in-crime
Is now just my favorite crime

Thoughts of a criminal father.
addict thief impoverished loss of riches gained.
wanting better for my only son
and only sin has brought us close
to our goal.
Thoughts move forward
putting criminality behind
while we are lowest in our life.
Overcoming these roaches and rats
no friends have come
and THEY have my son
I want my son.

go with what I know?
or take my time moving slow?
these are the thoughts of a
criminal father

There is one living
in every street
of this city
or more

they do not constitute a partnership
have no mores
nor do they share a front door

the shame keeps them
indoors, their actions in the shade
of the past, tucked away in deep drawers
behind bankthick vault doors

any reference to the events
from the past
may cause irreparable
damage to the
mental health
