I feel caged
These walls try to break me
My own home is scary
Can't you see?

I try to get out
The walls crash in
Under them I am burried
Thats where I've always been

It's growling at me
With its emotionless eyes
As my fears grow, it starts to see
It's growling with all its lies

Black as the devil's soul
Creating a never endless pain
A dead wicked ghoul
Stuck like an unremovable stain

It taunts and laughs wickedly
It spitted out, "You're weak just like your mother."
I spatter out bitterly
But it doesn't seem to bother

Bickering, bickering for who's right
The lies connected my fate
No longer do I see the light
I'm no longer in the zone, going mentally insane

"Let me out!," I shrieked
But it smiled and escaped
I'm no longer within the breach
I'm all caged.

I want to be free,
like a bird
I want to fly but
not be heard
I want to go places
without a degree,
but that's the rule
of society

We are all caged
like rats at a lab
scratching at the bars
trying to grab

What's the point?
Why cage us, why break us?
Why make us appoint?

I want to be free
not sit here, caged
thinking of treachery

Now I see
we live in a dollhouse
they are the puppeteers
and we are the dolls
we will never be free
we will always be behind walls
and them?
they get to walk
through the halls

Caged and shackled,
the darkness grows
a cold wind crept upon my toes
the small fire crackled
before the flame retreated
now, oh now,
I feel cheated

Unattended,
no food or drink
all I hear
is nothing but a clink
I feel my heart drop
like a stone
because I know
I'm all alone

as they came and broke the silence
the violence in my red heart raged
not enough blood to avenge and
quench the thirst locked and caged

more than your guilt can harbour
there are always more wars to wage
and you think it must be a dream
so you scream yourself awake

only to have birth in the mirror
a reflection perhaps more than self
words fade into the cold whisper
on the other side, as far no one can tell

only a dream you whisper again
as if monsters pity a forsaken child
counting memories to keep sane
slowly turning poisoned and vile

they break down the walls, as if
nothing had stood there all these years
if they have to take my all, so be it
I've always known more than my tears

i have struggled to wear them masks
painted black and white, grey and sorrow
one-day they'll be here to take me at last
but even now my days feel so hollow

so they say we all bleed the same
tell me, have you ever tasted blood
how can they be more than my blame
when I've never known as they have such

in every drop of ash spilled and combust
burns an ocean of dawn and dusk
in the depths where rotten flesh rusts
breeds the darkness, bones and dust

from there I will find myself again
so deep, even scars won't reach there
and the dead would heed my claim
I will feed, on ones far and dear

a few noises and then morbid silence
silver haze falling through a window
there by the stars in the sky, I see
drops of love falling as cries a widow

I've seen it all before, I have had
enough to make you mad, and trapped
I've known them talk to me, and go back
only a glimpse of hell makes you go black

they can eat me as they would like
i am more than the bones they can break
what do you do to the dog who bites
you bite that dog back than be a slave

I feel bound.
*******.
Caged.
This lack of action
Lack of knowing
Sitting tight
Waiting for you to return to me
Ties me in knots.
Turns me inside out.
Fills me with fury and fear and upset.
And need.

It ran between both realms each was a track
One of darkness, One of light.
Every soul waited on the verge,
A precipice of the fallen waited
Purgatory was for those unable to wait
Descending
Plunging
Ebbing
In to the ether, as if drowning in nothing
Then gone. They still waited as the train
Pulled in, First class was the light, pristine
Setting classical music reverberated
With delicate tones.
Second class, dilapidated seats standing
Were most as so many to fit in.
Some rode on top, not knowing the dangers as
Reapers like crows flew above, food
For the cloak, all were game as they
picked bone teeth.
The Soul train was never on time,

"Tickets please,

The conductor bellowed out,
That feather given at last heartbeat,
But some lost in that terminal moment.
Out in to the wilds where all manner of
Super naturals waited.
Hell hounds ripping souls like tissue paper
No longer at peace, but pieces ingested a worst fate,
Feral angels, thoughts of help, absorbing there souls
More consumed the more insane they fell.

"Last stop, seats please,

Was spoken out, as each carriage dethatched,
First class was engulfed in an ether of light, gently
Stopping caressed by clouds of white.
Second class was jolted as engulfed by brimstone
Flame, screams were swallowed as the carriage
Exploded and all souls were caged in eternal flame.
The soul train will ride again, which carriage
Will you ride, depends on the toils of your life.

Haiku Poetry is a very short poem with poetic images that can transcend the limitation imposed by the usual language and thinking. What if we took that imagery into the realm of human nature? While attempting to do this I tried to stay within the bounds of contemplative poetry that indicates a moment, sensation, impression or drama of a specific moment in nature. However, I broadened this framework to at times include moral, historical, scientific, legal, social, etc., issues as well. I believe, by doing this, we are introduced to a unique and creative imagery that paints a mental picture where you the reader can find much deeper meanings to personally relate.

I am a dreamer
A spirit caged
looking to be set free
The dreams I dream
are realistic
I could be out in the world
searching places
Left perched here
caught between wanting to leave
and being afraid to.

Alive
Not living
Stuck
My body seems dazed
Sit and think is all I do
Like a prisoner
Disintegrating
Dying slowly, painfully
Thinking of a better life.

I try,
try my hardest
to see the light
Looking at images of my perfect nirvana
All I have is fascination
I can almost feel the wind,
see the nature surrounding
Just one of my dreams.

I open my eyes
Realize I'm confined
4 walls
Can't break free
Hoping one day the fear is gone
Endeavor and unearth happiness
True happiness
Travel the world like I've wanted to.

Dear Ex-Lover,
A poem for you I have,
but the words are faded and the
ink is running leaving my poem scrambled.

Love.
Love? What is it? I thought I had it for you. But it seems my love was not enough to keep you with me.

Age.
Was age really that big of a problem? That big of a delay? I would’ve moved mountains for you, even at my age.

Jealousy,
Was it so bad that I was jealous? You had a line of girls wanting you, waiting for you! Begging for my scraps. If the roles had been reversed wouldn’t you have done the same?

Lies.
Did you really only tell me lies? I needed more from you! I told you the truth, I believed your lies and loved you for them.

Pleasure.
I was not your pleasure machine. Was that the only reason you wanted me? You made me feel used as if I was nothing. Was I nothing?

Freedom.
Do you want your freedom? Well I hope so because I’m letting you go and unchaining myself from you. I was like a caged bird trapped inside both of your hands, and I’m forcing you to open them so I can fly away.

My poem is scrambled
for you my ex-lover my words
are tear stained and the ink faded.
