SRS Dec 2014
I may be young
and often written off because due to my adolescence
but I still feel like everyone else
and I still learn from my lessons
and as the days fly by
and the innocence in my heart lessens
just remember
I was never insane
I just lost track of counting my blessings
GGA Dec 2014
Table full
portions grand
colors and flavors
tempt and persuade.

We want for not
the bounty received
thankful for blessings
pleasantries and conversation between.

Recall when rich
with family
with friends
we rarely repent
having acquired our full share.

(Never too late)

I AM GRATEFUL---
for having my family
they are safe and healthy
we have roof over our heads and
clothes to keep us warm
there is always food on our table...

I AM GRATEFUL, THAT ---
on each new day,  i am able to
get up, alone...without much effort
can wash my face, brush my teeth,
clean my bathroom regularly
take a shower on my own
cook what i want to eat,
eat alone...
change the curtains in my bedroom
change my bedsheets without help,
as often as i want to...

I AM GRATEFUL, THAT I ---
still celebrated another birthday
was able to say THANK YOU!
with family and friends on Thanksgiving day
made scary decors for Halloween
decked our house with a tree and lanterns before December
hang stars, angels in corners and in between
am strong enough to put them all away when Christmas is over...

I AM GRATEFUL I AM STILL ABLE TO WITNESS
how a night of fireworks and celebrations
easily segues into a day of new beginnings...

I AM GRATEFUL THAT I CAN ---
write, share my thoughts, my moments,
look back to the past with a smile,
find contentment where i am now,
still look forward to my future,
wake up to each new day
and another.......and
another.....and
another...
and
A N O T H E R .

Thanksgiving must come with every breath
For we are showered with Blessings without end...

A post that is better late than never....

And who would dare complain
Without a flood from heaven
Separating us from sin
Knowing some will be lost
Never to see their God again?

And who would dare complain
Without indigenous tribes
Chased by the cruelest of men
Armed with manifest destiny
Ready to take their land?

And who would dare complain
Without bombs raining down
Immoral and ruthless
Serving the ambitions of those
Living inside a fortress?

And who would dare complain
Without starving first
Walking the streets alone
Carrying a sign of mercy
Only to be blamed or ******?

And who would dare complain
Without wearing chains
Feeling the whip crack
Knowing the next day
The master will be back?

And who would dare complain
Without immortality mocking
From a grave already waiting
Because they were not buried
With those God would be taking?
Feeling blessed and a bit angry about those who are spoiled by entitlement
The most testing period of my research life (and my life too) coincided with the most prolific period of poetry writing of mine.

For more than 50 days on a trot, I wrote about 50 poems and almost none were mediocre, and few of them were my best. A poem a day. Almost! Which is unimaginable at the beginning of this year

Now I'm going for an onslaught for a work I have been battling all these days. I need all my energy and mental and physical resources.

Yes. I'm gonna take a break. A small break.

Will come back rejuvenated with all your wishes and blessings.

Thanks for the encouragement and collaborations

I'll be back!
As you probably know I have been so busy with my books... and I have some Exciting news...
I am so excited... This is such an honor...

She died,
Blending into this holy world.
Of what was left of her,
Were her glistening eyes,
Looking upon us,
Gazing all the time,
Like shining stars,
In a night sky.
Her omnipresence,
Gave us hope,
While she cast,
Her blessings upon us,
Even when she  was,
Resting in another world.

My days are like never ending dreams;
I'm glad to say I'm happy to be
Alive; in such a daze, I walk in
As I watch Hell's fiery tongue
Retrieve, as my blessings sink in deep
And all my devastation resolves;
In this hectic mess, such happy ends
Must be a hoax; how can someone so
Unlucky have so many miracles?
It must be a dream: please, don't wake up.

Beyond imagination,
Beyond reality,
Your love and blessings are immeasurable,
Yet I  forget;
In despair I return,
Make me strong and compassionate,
Better than I was,
Above all,
Closer to you than ever before.
