I've cast a hundred
Smiles at strangers and
Loved ones and no
Smile back has ever meant
More to me than yours.

I've gazed into a dozen
Pairs of eyes, trying to
Spark my clairvoyance.
I'd yet to see the future
Until I dove into yours.

I've poured all my love
To only a few, and none
Have nourished my soul like you;
Like a fresh breath after April showers,
And I am in full bloom.

Tears rolled down my cheek
Moistened the Earth beneath me
I sunk to my knees
Gazed upward at the sea of turbulent skies
I closed my eyes and felt the downpour of twilight
Guess we have that in common tonight
Mother Nature must also want to cry
But she tells me that this will not last
As I open my palms
My hands begin to dry
April showers can empower
For when the storm does pass
The land will glisten
The flowers will thrive
And so will I
Anyone heard of "escapril?" It's "escaping into poetry every day in April," (on instagram) in other words, a 30 day challenge where you write a poem and follow prompts each day. Here's one of them :)

Flames form above the clouds.
And I'm stuck here wondering
How did I get so lucky?
Despite the storm coming down,
I'm blessed enough
To find the sunset.
How can I be ungrateful
when the sun comes back
every morning?
And leaves me at night
With its shining and cratered
Lunar light..
What did I do
to deserve this
magnificence?
