Her name was Happiness
Rebeca Aug 2019
I've been dreaming about a girl
With silver hair and icy eyes,
With pink lips and good vibes,
With the softest smile and skinny thighs...
She was the sun ray that kissed your face
After the cruel winter haze.
She was the gracious lioness,
Almost like a royal Highness.

But she was just a con
Because, c'mon ,
She told me she loved me,
That she'll never leave me
And then I woke up and she was gone
And I was left alone from dusk 'till dawn.
When you think you just found your true Happiness, then Life waltzes in and gives you a good slap.

Blessed
Rebeca Mar 2021
I thank my God who rests above
for all the blessings and the love,
for loving me enough to do
me a favour by creating you.

He has put you in my path,
and I thank Him for that,
for the kindness I see in your soul,
and your laughs that make me whole.

Your blue eyes and chilly hands,
the tight hugs my soul demands,
your tender smile and warm embrace...
They all set my soul ablaze!

I have seen the stars and the sea,
the butterflies and the willow tree,
and still, my favourite place to be
is the one that has you and me.
Cheers to falling in love again. Who would've thought it would be possible

Trusting
Rebeca Sep 2019
You're holding my heart
With your delicate hands and
long fingers
And you caress it with tenderness
and care.
You hold it like it's the most valuable treasure in the world.

But then you start squeezing it
and
crushing it
and
squashing it
'Till it bleeds out and all that is left
Are a few shards scattered into the dark
of the void night

Trapped
Rebeca Aug 2019
stormy skies
sleepless eyes
dying bit by bit inside
my tears are almost dried
but my heart's still aching
my soul's still breaking

Help me out of this hellhole
I can't take anymore
From a time when my mind was a prison cell

Memento mori
Rebeca Aug 2019
Oh, you poor old soul
Wandering this Earth alone...
Remember:
you'll have an end
And you'll meet it
all by yourself,
with no friend.

Remember you'll die.
One of my favorite quotes from Latin.

Baby doll
Rebeca Dec 2019
Sometimes I feel weak,
Breakable just like a twig...

I feel vulnerable and small,
Just like a broken baby doll.

Why
Rebeca Sep 2019
Why
Why am I trying so hard
To make you love me again
When you've clearly had enough?

Prison
Rebeca Aug 2019
In this prison full of lies
The cells are oversize
But the walls...
They ain't made of concrete bricks,
They ain't breaking with just six
Wrecking ball kicks.
And the windows...
Oh, my sweet child, the windows...
They don't even exist.
There's no piercing light,
No chasing dreams, no flying kite,
No escaping hopes,
Just me and my thoughts...
I'm pacing blind
In this prison that's my mind.
One of my first ever poems in English.

Home
Rebeca Aug 2019
This peaceful place I'm calling home
Isn't a house of my own
It's the place I've grown
The place where all I've known
Is happiness and joy
It's a place you can't destroy
Because this quiet place I'm calling home
It's the feeling of you
Holding my hand and kissing my cheeks, too.

Bleed me dry
and leave me to die
in this pool of sorrows
leaked from my soul and eyes

Muted
Rebeca Feb 2020
I'm afraid to open my mouth
So the screams I'm keeping chained
Inside my throat
Won't break free

I'm afraid to open my mouth
So the pain inside my chest
The one you cannot see
Won't flood the earth

I'm afraid to open my mouth
So the words on my tongue
The ones you cannot hear
Won't deafen the skies
And bleed the ears
Of the benighted.

The chant of the pained
Rebeca Mar 2020
Let me cry my pain away,
Oh, sweet rain,
Sweet rain...
Let me turn back into clay,
Let me wilter in decay,
Please, sweet rain,
Sweet rain...
Let me die today.

Would you let me be
Rebeca Aug 2019
Would you let me touch your skin
and kiss your heart,
and taste your soul,
and hear your voice in the dark?
Would you let me be your rock,
your safe haven and home,
your point of retreat when you feel alone?

Can I be the one
to hold you when you cry,
to kiss your head
and tell you 'you'll survive'?
Can I be the one
to cherish you, my dear,
to sing you songs
and wipe your tears?

Can I be the one you love?
Would you let me be the one to love you?
