The Last Of Summer's Shriveled Leaves Held On,
A Blistering Wind Had Grasped Their Frail Stems,
And Ripped Each One Off Until They Were Gone;
They Fell Slow Between The Tree's Tangled Limbs

The Last Of Springtime's Robins Had Shivered,
The Orange On Their Bellies Now White From Snow,
Winter's Cruel Bite Seeping To Their Liver,
As Their Eyes Lost The Summer Sun's Stale Glow

The Last Of Fall's Lazy Currents Had Ceased,
And The River Creaked With White, Crispy: Ice,
Robins Scowered What The Ice Had Released,
Skittering Along The Banks Like Starved Mice

The Warmth Within The Trees Has Now Vanished,
The Robin's Song Was Now Chilled And Famished
I Took A Walk The Other Day Along The Now Frozen Mississippi. A Flock Of About 20-30 Robins Landed In A Tree On The Bank Next To Where I Was Sitting. The Bank Was Sligtly Open And They Picked Through The Frozen Dirt For Food Which Wasn't There... There Is A Condition These Robins Suffer From Which Doesn't Allow Them To Return South Because Of The Corruption Of A Gland Behind Their Eyes Which Allows Them To See The Magnetic Field Of The Earth--Which Is Their Built In GPS. This Gland Has Been "Whacked Up" Because Of The Frequenzy Emitted By Cellphone Towers... Last Year In The Middle Of December A Flock Of 9 Surived Until The First January Blizzard..
In the moment when I shivered in the cold,
      I saw him smile.
Oh, it was nothing out of the box,
It just gave me the much needed warmth.

It stretched endlessly from one end to the other,
      It flowed breaking every barrier.
Oh, it wasn't that unusual, you see,
It only made me miss a heartbeat once again.

I saw his lips dance to a happy tune,
My eyes lingered there for a while.
Oh, nothing went wrong with me, you know,
I just found my own lips moving to the rhythm of his dance.

It was a simple smile, that occurred on a winter morning,
The one he smiled, that one.
Oh, I was not even that near to him , you see,
But , the beauty of the smile did completely encompass me.
Isn't it weird, that 'someone's' smile can always make your day? No matter who that 'someone' might be, no matter how bad your day is... No matter how when many people say, "That's weird, you know?", you smile to yourself and whisper, "It's weird , that it is the most beautiful, and the most special thing in the world!" :)

darling,
don't you wish you knew?

that somebody, some angel or devil, will give you a shout out from above
just an alert to tell that your world will fall apart?

so very soon....

and maybe you could have smiled at the bullied kid and given him your peanut butter sandwich
you could have enjoyed every bits of information flooding in your brain
you could have treasured every test, quiz, and teacher
you could have told how beautiful your mom looked today
you could have told your dad that he will always be your role model
you could have given a small kiss on the cheek to your baby brother
you could have hugged your best friend a bit tighter
you could have felt the rain pattering your head
you could have told a stranger that you want them to hold on, be strong

darling, you could have, didn't you
before it all evaporated?
it's never our fault, it seems ...

a piece of paper really
with bunch of faces and numbers printed
all coated with green
just a piece of paper

funny how it controls the way we act, the way we talk,
it controls the future, eh?
people say it doesn't matter how much you have of it
but we all know that's the biggest *******

a piece of paper
shouldn't define where you sleep at night, what you have for breakfast
shouldn't define how you get your education, how much more successful you will be
shouldn't embody tears and hearts
shouldn't depend the loss of innocence

a piece of paper really
just a ******* sheet of paper

oh, and in case I forgot to mention,
it controls everyone's life
