Was it for this I uttered prayers?

I had a dream about hell
(The night you saved me and I almost fell)
Lake of fire below our feet; it is warm, too warm
(I couldn't see the rope, and the fire is cause for alarm)
You smile as I get across and tell me to go
No no no
Not without you, not without you, not without you withoutyouwithoutyouwithoutyou

{I miss you and I’m sorry I failed you.}

the bridge says no,
wishes you cross it now

just talk about the bridge
share your feelings about the bridge
communicate, inform
relate and connect
(get it across)

because that bridge would rather it burn
and you take that step
and get across

I had a future once;
with some beautiful dame with (his) ***** blonde hair and (his) blue eyes and our white picket fence.

Him coming over for dinner every night,
him taking our little girls out every Saturday spoiling them rotten.
And I guess it was okay (but not really)
since I had a future with him.

(I had a future with him, but not in the way that really mattered.)

*I thought that this was just a fleeting thing, a passing moment, an innocent crush.

once I was a song
sung by a choir of grace
but I’ve fallen now
and live in solitude
trapped in silent’s embrace
-----------
-----------
I opened you up
and found light
the stars
and vast oceans

if I am the sun
then you are a thousand stars
bright like heaven’s doors
and speckled with miraculous life
-----------
-----------
once you were all extraordinary
so high up on an empty throne
you told me of freedom and peace
but then you banished me
clipped my wings
left me alone

and you taught me
not to trust in the stars
to stay away from the brightest lights
because they will all burn too*
-----------
I fell for all of you,
and you asked me if it hurt

it’s like—
like feeling completely and truly
as skin and bone,
heaven I can no longer call home

and that’s not even the worst part
I’m losing hope in you
and I gave up everything for you

[I searched for my heaven
and it asked me to go.]
