This is one of those love poems
That young lovers tend to write
When they find that special someone
They think about morning, noon, and night

When the dull world that they once knew
Shines a brighter shade
Like any other love poem that you've read
On any other given day

It talks about when the one you love
Turns around and smiles
How with the kiss of wind the clouds disappear
And the sun comes shining out

Filled with a sugary sweetness
That drips from off the page
Though you've heard this in every love poem before
It still has the need to say

There's an essence to your beauty
How life sparkles when you smile
The way it is I feel for you
Is what this poem is all about

And though it's all been said before
In many poems up to this day
Thought I'd go ahead and take this chance
To say it any way

There is a bit of difference
And the evidence does hold true
This poem your holding in your hands
Was written especially for you

Please one more time tonight
I gotta get right before Sunday service
Pinhole pupils gouged by beauty
I am in love with the store clerks
Ringing up ciggarettes and vidalia onions on their cash registers
I just want to come over that conveyor belt
And kiss them

Dilated impulse control
Has me reaching out into the darkness
Looking for your hand
I'm not alone
In my head at least
You lie next to me

It feels a little bit like life in here
Away from the noise and the din
Have a shotgun barrel beneath my chin
Thinking of rebirth and a god with eyes

I load up .6
Just for the hell of it

I just want to see
If I'll wake up tommorow
And find you still sleeping on my ribs
Did you know that
I love you
even though I have not met you yet?
I lay on my hospital bed,
waiting for the anesthesia to kick in.
Feeling dizzy. Turning sleepy.
There's no one there to hold my hand.

The nurses looking at me,
waiting to start the procedure.
Looking tired. Pacing quiet.
My body starts to go numb.

I will soon be out of this world,
at least for a few hours.
Running free. Feel no pain.
My eyes start to lose reality.

I wish I could stay numb
until I have to sleep forever.
Have no fear. Living strong.
So please, Mr. surgeon, leave the anesthesia on.
I sometimes wish I could stay numb. I'll enjoy the anesthesia as long as I can. See you when I come back.

Summer is pretty
And it is very hot too
So we drink iced-tea

you are

my emotion
my devotion
the gentle rocking motion
in the middle of my ocean

my little lie
my breathy sigh
I can't deny
you are my
every high

you are

my ever after
my disaster
rocking the rafter
with your smoky laughter

my *Inspiration

my Hesitation
my Indecision
my Exhalation

you are

an unrepentant rake
the last I take
my first mistake
the only one I make

you are my

Lighthouse in the dark
shady tree inside the park
blending when things are stark
clarity with a soft remark

you are

my Muse that never keeps
my Angel that never sleeps
the pounding heart that beats
to the rhythm of the other heart
it keeps

you are

my Resistance
that goes the distance
with an insistence
the core of my existence

you are

my second chance
for true romance
in a cosmic expanse
you are my First Dance

my warmth when I am cold
my story left untold
my grey hair when I'm old
my present to unfold

You make my heart sing
caressing each and every string
with the joy you bring

*
you are my everything
My communication skills ****,
How will I ever be able to earn a buck?
I could even lose to a duck.
What is wrong with me, ****.
