Mallow
We conquer foul play caused by past discrepancies
Somewhere along the chart, hearts sink into the sand
Scars caused by burned skin never change their shape
Even when nursed back to health, they still hold the same print.
The pleasure that you speak of is too far in the distance,
All moves are read with a cautious eye
Feelings cannot be talked off the overhanging ledge
The fire of pain cannot be put out inside.

Roads do not just lay out paths before us,
They form partings of what was once a unified land.
Promised deliveries are only distractions
So the forbidden can again be secretly admired.
Why does the bond have to be evolved?
Why does it have to mean coexist as the separate?
We all live lives so solitary and curious
Where there is always a bit left on the side.

Hopeless and heartless is what we are left with
The more we go on the less we can hold onto in pride.
Call the delivery man for food, love and friendship
When we are done we tell him to go on and drive.
All feels like an existence in a video game
Where all the lights are made to be blinding
Same pages may exist but
How they are read is never beloved again.
If
IF tears could heal pain
IF sympathy could stitch wound
IF prayers could bring back life
How different the definition of living would be then
if only we could bring back :(
The bull is within your soul
He begs me
Calling out your name in silence
afraid of what's inside.

The magic of the ether
now taking hold
singing to the pink  dolphins
as they swim past the stars.

And then you told me
The ether was made far from here,
made just for you.
Living above the sky like you do
wandering in the night.

Something in this world
is changing
and the magic of the ether will
guide us through as the dolphins
begin to turn blue.

Amanda
I miss you most
when I'm lying in bed
and I roll over
to find you
anywhere
but next to me.

My arms are empty,
but my heart
is so full.

I see you
when I close my eyes
and in
the corners of my mind
but it has been
quite a while
since I have seen you
in front of me
and been able
to touch you,
to feel you,
to hold you.

I want to memorize
the look in your eyes
when you're happiest
and kiss your tears away
when you cry.
And I want to see
the anger in your face
when you're mad at me
so I can let you be,
and then laugh
and tell you to
come here, baby,
come and
let me hold you.

Just let me look at you
so I can forever remember
the sparkle in your eyes
and the gentle curl
of that smile
that keeps me
always, always, always
coming back.

**I am constantly missing you
but I suppose I always will.
I love flowers
But not the kind that are planted side by side in perfectly straight rows
or precisely arranged into a delicate bouquet
Instead I love the ones that grow wild and ragged along the sides of highways
Surrounded by broken glass and litter
Pops of bright yellow bursting alongside the dull gray asphalt
Free to grow in whichever way they please.
