Change The Inner You

When you look back at your life
If you don't like the view
Then you must look within yourself
And change the inner you

Change the way you see yourself
With all the things you do
Give yourself a different look
A different point of view

Show a side that's seldom seen
And allow for something new
Create your own reflection
And do it just for you

It is only when you're honest
With what you see inside
That you create the image
Of what's seen within your eyes

When you look back at your life
If you don't like the view
Then you must look within yourself
And change the inner you

Carl Joseph Roberts
When your last breath has been taken

The final curtain drawn

What memories will you leave behind

In the hearts of those you've known

Will it be there was a Godly man

Or have mercy on his soul

Choose this day what they will say

For tomorrow never knows
"I sit, i think as each day goes by.
Your here, your near with so much to say.
Silent conversation fills my mind.
Words spoken softly, with your mouth, and lips of a dusty dry.
I would offer you a liquid to moisten them for you,
rather a kiss is born, as i hoped for too.
We are far, but so close, yet i feel your hand in mine,
but not feeling your flesh, seems like a horrid crime.
A breeze comes in from the east,
the location of where you live.
The fragrance of the Jersey Shore surrounds me
on that day we drove to our secret abyss.
An unforgettable day will soon be replaced,
as for now this distant relationship will end,
then again we become face to face."
"For years i bowed before you, but never understanding why.
You were a man we all spoke of, but a part of me would run , and hide.
You've given me years of thought.
You planted me in your soil.
I began to grow. You nurtured me so.
It's never to late to eat from your plate, iv'e learned that from you.
Your teachings made me a better man, i now hold your hand.
"I Bow Before You Now."
Thinking of you always, and what you have done.
To have died for me, and my loved one's, to give up your only son.
I give my respect, and give you what you expect.
"I Bow Before You Now."....
I lived in the Dark for many years, and he never turned his back on me.
The least i can do is to, "BOW BEFORE HIM NOW."!!!!
"I sat in a restaurant waiting for my order to arrive,
In between a day dream, i glanced over my shoulder, and witnessed
tears coming out of a young man's eyes.
His right hand clutched in hers as she pulled away,
i was able to read her lips. "I have nothing more to say."
She excused herself, stood up, and slowly walked toward me,
looking into my eyes, she bowed her head, and softly said.
"Dam it, he still has my apartment key."
My lunch arrived as he sits their and cries.
I feel his pain, i once played that game.
The only difference was.
It was i who said the goodbye's.
We always hear of the girl with a broken heart.
"Boys Hearts Get Broken Too"
I'm normally not one to brag
But I had one of my poems set to music
By a MAJOR INTERNATIONAL ROCK STAR BAND!
Known the world over...
I'm also not one to drop names
But if I did, which I wont, but if I did
I'm sure that U2 would easily recognize the name
Well anyway I'm so proud of it I wanted to Hum you a few Lines

Hmmmm  Hmmmmmm Hmmmm
Hmm Hmm Hmm Hmm
Hmmmmm Hmmmmm
Hm Hm Hm Hm Hm Hm Hm
Hmmmm Hmmmmmm Hmmmm

That's just the chorus...
But you can clearly see why it is I'm so proud!
Thanks!
the whispering
tells me there's a wanting

the whispering
is soft and sincere

the whispering
is a finger held to the lips of a child

the whispering
adds to my fears

the whispering
gives away hidden secrets

the whispering
shows what's soon to be

the whispering
stands on the edge of the shadows

the whispering
keeps haunting me
I hear the falcon
but not the falconer;
its prescient screech
claws at my ears

The shadow of its wings
is delivered by the sun
but those who gather
in its path cry out in vain

The worst conflate
their ways with
passionate intensity,
belied by lack of
true sincerity

And yet the best
decline to rise or cease
virtue as vulnerability;
they watch unwittingly

as the falcon turns above,
finding no footsteps
into Bethlehem
He enters in via the shadows of night
While the world is sound in its sleep
Snatches that which goes bump in the night
The Profiteer of everyone's dreams

Tosses them into his silken bag
Heads down to the market place
Sells the dreams to the highest of bids
Nightmares bring double the price

If you awaken with no recollection
And wonder what it could possibly mean
Your dreams were taken and sold in the night
Now others are dreaming your dreams

So guard yourself while you are sleeping
The subconscious can be easily deceived
Into giving away all that it's saved
To the Profiteer of everyone's dreams
